    Where to for Super Rugby?

What meds is MC on? FFS, we appreciate the need for big-time PR from him, but that is just wilfully, wildly delusional and as such will alienate more rugby fans than encourage them. And he can be smug. Except after every time EJ (Eddie Jones) out-coaches him, then we see the other side.

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

In the last decade, NH rugby has advanced in cms, NZ rugby in ms. As the Australia Super teams have experienced. That truth will be where the tale is told.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Well, in fairness, IMO I did answer it by saying/agreeing 'there is clearly a benefit to the code in having FTA for Wallaby Tests'. I'd love to see more FTA coverage of more rugby - who would not? My point is solely that I see little point in wild speculations re getting more FTA for...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

You may be joking pT but assuming not for a moment, the Force CEO as above was the very opposite of knifing in public or 'keeping our powder dry', he was effectively defending the ARU board in public and affirming there would be neither a public knifing nor even anything approaching a private...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The banner re Pulver speaks bucketloads does it not re how that infamous remark has gone down in Sydney club land.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

OK, here (link below) we have The Perfect Example No 369 of why the institutional framework, and the dysfunctional attitudes and toxic habits within it, that rules Australian rugby is totally fucked. Of all people, here we have none other than the Force CEO speaking out almost fondly and...

2017 RD15 Auckland Blues vs QNLD Reds (In Samoa)

........ and how bad was QC (Quade Cooper)? If Foley goes down for the Tests, I fear for both QC (Quade Cooper) and the Wallabies if he has to step in. It's sad really.

    Reds 2017

And the how-did-it-all-end points are looking eerily similar.

    Reds 2017

Serious Q No 2: other than our QRU, is there a RU anywhere else in this world that has persisted with elite coaches (i.e. Graham and Stiles) with this loss record for this long a period?

2017 RD15 Auckland Blues vs QNLD Reds (In Samoa)

We Reds fans have all had to become Desperados. Looking for minute 'turn of fortune' possibilities from our losses such that in some make believe world of our fantasies, the Reds 'really were' the winners. Rust never sleeps, hope never dies.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

That's of course a totally different point to the one I made above. Did I advocate ceasing FTA for Wallaby games?.........no. Of course there is a benefit to the code in that. My point simply was: why should FTA - all stations now on far tighter financial constraints that even a few years...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I totally agree BH with your essential point above. Has having Wallaby matches live on Ch10 SD and HD materially driven up viewership numbers for this product on Ch10? I don't think so. Why? - almost certainly, too many abject Wallaby losses to the teams Aussies care about most, the ABs...

    Reds 2017

Overall, I very much agree with you - winning more than losing in Aus pro sports tends to correlate closely with positive income economics for the code, or club within the code, concerned. This is one of the many reasons I am deeply concerned as to what the poor performance of our Super teams...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

We keep talking the numbers, and FTA, and more online and and and if only if only if only. We keep neglecting to talk about the most important matter of all: How to get the quality of the pro rugby product up from its error-ridden, mostly losing, sloppy and inconsistent quality today...

    Reds 2017

I do get your drift but personally don't like these tags like 'fair weather', 'easily scorned'. Probably not your intent, but I think these talk down to real fans who once paid good money (and many times) to see the Reds and today possess quite a real sense that they have not so much just been...

Wallabies v Fiji, 3pm Sat 10th June, AAMI Park, Melbourne

With only 10 days to go, what are ticket sales looking like?

    Reds 2017

The sad thing is: we may care here, but so many people in Brisbane who used to follow and be interested in the Reds have given up, have walked away, no longer want to discuss them, don't care any more. For how many years now has their affection and motivation been let down and abused by a QRU...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

As a very preliminary assessment, I'd say Cron is making a key difference vs the hapless U20s coaching regime of many previous campaigns. The team this year seems more coherent, more confident, less error prone, better ensemble play and less one-out attempts at hero plays.

    Thanks BH, that explains it.

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Is Mack Mason (ex QLD now with Tahs) beyond the age range? Logically year by year re his GPS school compatriots in this U20s team he would be now U20, but maybe not. He's better than Stewart (at this stage of their playing careers anyway) IMO.
