IRB U/20 Tournament and Oz Squad

It was a great game to watch but I don't think the OZ side can be that loose against England or NZ. A few too many turnovers in the game. Having said that, there was plenty to admire. Coleman was man of the match for sure and shows a ton of pace for an inside back. All the backs were good...

IRB U/20 Tournament and Oz Squad

There is every likelihood that Australia and South Africa will finish 1st and 4th of all the teams and have to face off in the semi. damn shame that. Other permutations are that NZ lies down for Wales and they somehow sneak through, or NZ smashes Wales and finishes 1st, leaving the loser of...

    2010 QLD Club Rugby

Well put it this way, he put himself in position to score those tries. I thought his positional sense was good and he defended the channel well. He definitely has potential, and as with a few young guys of island extraction, I think his humility and seemingly 'laid back nature' is occasionly...

    All Blacks v Ireland

Really looking forward to seeing how Dagg and Stanley handle the step up. Roks found some rare form during the S14 so he will also be one to watch. Not a bad looking All Black side really.

Brothers are definitely on a roll after that ordinary start. Not only have they rediscovered their winning ways, they are piling on points as well. So at the halfway mark it's Uni, Sunnybank, Easts and Brothers, with Sun Coast and Norths just outside the six. I'm thinking that GPS will...

Big first up win over Scotland 58-13. Have heard Fainga and Schatz were outstanding.

I went to the Norths v Easts game at Shaw Park. The first half was pretty ordinary, with Norths going to the break 5-0 up, and unlucky not be ahead by more. Easts were really struggling with poor passes, dropped ball and nothing going right. The second half was totally different. It was like...

    Wallabies v Fiji, Canberra

I somehow doubt Caucau will be anywhere near his imperious best but it would be good to see. Like others I saw him at the 2003 World Cup, and he was absolutely awesome...probably the best winger I have seen play the game. I agree with the poster who said him and Campese in a best ever World XV.

    Reds 2011

I reckon get Prior from Uni into the Academy. He looks to have real potential, and with the professional attention that he would get in the Academy he would improve a lot, making him a handy emergency for the top squad. Lucas is the obvious back up at the moment. Other guys worth considering are...

Apparently Mitchell and Shipperley are carrying a couple of niggling injuries but will be ggod to go for the next game, and Anderson is yet to arrive.

    Club Players with potential

May as well add David Feao from Brisbane Souths. Only two years out of school and in his second year as a frontrower in Premier Grade. Currently away with Tonga at the 20's. Puzzles me how he didn't make the Aussie side? Maybe he is a little on the small side? Very tough young bloke.

Good report Lion. It looks like Wests are in for a long, long season. This weekend will be interesting with the standout clash being Uni vs Sunnybank at Uni. Uni are top of table and will probably have a few more Reds back in the form of Taylor, Weekes and maybe Byrne. That being said it will...

Right, just thought I would add another Brissy player. Bond (not sure of first name), the Norths 12 on the weekend looks a very strong and assured player. He has a decent boot on him as well. Anyone else seen much of his play?

Bit of a try fest at Shaw Park on Saturday, with Uni taking the lollies 49 - 35. Norths were brave but in the end Uni's forward pack was the difference. Mitchell Chapman made a significant impact at no 8. Interesting that he has chosen to play in Brisbane club.

IRB U/20 Tournament and Oz Squad

Re: Oz U20 squad With Manu having played top grade for Manly and Jones getting a bit of S14 time, there is at least some top flight experience in the tight five. Backrow will be awesome and interesting to see who they pick. Looks like they could be a bit light for experienced 13's after...

Only ten in the Baabaa's? Im thinking that To'omua will get the nod after 20's and reckon Morahan and Schatz and at least one of the talented 7's might also get the nod.

He and Sharp have been the best OZ locks in the S14, so agree... he deserves a green and gold jersey. Good to see a couple of veterans leading the way.
