    Wallabies 2023

We lost to a semi-decent rugby side because we had about fifty players missing- let’s not make it more than what it really is.

You’re all over the place Tomthumb. You say that we do have the cattle to be more successful and then you instantly contradict that and state that our players lack rugby nous. It’s obvious you are not a fan of Rennie’s but it’s not clear whether that’s because you don’t rate him as a coach or...

    Force 2023

Any team with Hegarty as a starting player isn’t going far.

    Wallabies 2023

I don’t understand the criticism of bringing in Quade Cooper- he’s demonstrated on the field that he is by far our best flyhalf and the results have shown this- shouldn’t it actually be considered a success? Why should Rennie have selected a younger fly-half, who ultimately would likely be an...

Tupou also needs to stop the habit of receiving the ball stationary every time. it might work in Super Rugby AU where he can use his strength and athleticism to dominate contact but it’s not working at this leve.

Exactly right- I feel the criticism of Wright is completely over the top when you consider both his experience and the leeway given to so many other players who have played 15 over the years. Kurtley Beale has countless shockers over the years.

Which actually leads to an interesting question (and potentially its own discussion topic) - which of the three amigos was the most talented and who has made the biggest contribution to Australian rugby?

Unfortunately an undercooked Quade Cooper is probably still a better option than everyone else we have at this stage. If Quade is able to run in time for the World Cup- I think starts at flyhalf.

Valetini is becoming a world class player- our attack is nearly entirely reliant on Valetini generating momentum with the ball.

He could easily end up having a far more illustrious international career than Banks in the 15 jersey.

Wright has spent 90% of his professional rugby career playing on the wing. He’s only playing at the back due to injuries and genera talent- he shouldn’t be compared to a career fullback at this stage.

I think some of the criticism of Wright is a bit over the top- we know that performances like this come with the territory and you hope it doesn’t align with Petaiai. For a third/ fourth string fullback and a top wing he still has a lot to offer and despite the mistakes at least he’s...

I think Swain needs a rest- he wasn’t effective disrupting mauls and was nearly Rob Simmons-esque with the ball.

I’ll comment on the performance later but at least it was an entertaining and open game of rugby- plenty of running and tries scored. Any neutral (or Argentinian) should have enjoyed it.

Some pretty cooked takes here Derpus - I know this forum is very supportive to Lolesio and Hodge but these are some of the best yet. And don't get me started on BH's generosity that with Hodge we play a 'smarter' game and revert to the 'fundamentals' of rugby, suggesting that it's tactical...

He's still the best flyhalf we have by a decent margin, and arguably our most important player. Hodge came on and 'did a job' but again it was more about effort than actually enhancing the team.

We also need to sort out the discipline issues that we constantly have in the first quarter of games. The guys are enthusiastic but some of the decision-making is absolutely woeful especially by the forward pack.

Bloody happy to win that game and it was about time Wallabies had some luck in the end. I feel for Quade, he's such a good footballer and even looked a real running threat for the first time in a while. Flyhalf is a bit of a concern though, neither Lolesio nor Hodge are good enough for us to be...
