    November Internationals not involving Australia

Am I right in saying that the six players highlighted all played for Australian Super or club sides?

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

Has the finisher's list been held back as usual?

    November Internationals not involving Australia

Hansen's still got Smith at 9. I can't see why Perenara is not their first choice halfback based on the recent form.

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

I am reminded of the quote about Mark Ella: "touch it twice and we score, touch it thrice and he scores".

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

Supposedly the NZ team tactics and strategies are the fount of all wisdom at the moment. They play less internationals than us, and yet regularly rotate their squads. They are always banging on about preventing player burnout, though it also has the advantage of building depth. Their best...

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

I think you will find that when Naiyaravoro plays for the Tahs next year he will play at wing but will be used as a battering ram around the rucks and in midfield In his games for the Rams in NRC 1 he absolutely terrorised opposition midfields and I suspect he could do that at Wallaby level too...

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

I don't like Morahan at 13, but that team is close to what I would pick and for similar reasons.

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

More to the point, about 70% of the game was played in the Scottish half. No good judge of a game of rugby would consider that stat to be a dominant performance by Scotland.

French Barbarians v Australia, Thursday 24 November

Sorry about the table. I tried copying it in as a picture but no luck. Any 8 year olds out there who can tell me what to do?

French Barbarians v Australia, Thursday 24 November

I have used a spreadsheet (below) to try and map out the options and possibilities for the next four games. The issues are: No one can get injured in the French game in most positions. There are a few where we have enough cover for both Ireland and the Barbarians, but not many and mainly in the...

That is a very strong Barbarians team that are on their third straight match so they will be match hardened and developing good combinations, If they can fix their scrum and lineout deficiencies against a team not notable for these skills they'll murder Fiji.

Maybe coach is expecting that Warburton will be replaced early as he works his way back from injury

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

In Thompson's case I am not sure there was much success to prepare him for the next level. Last year's U-20's campaign showed up some huge coaching shortcomings and over the last three years we could not make the semi's once. After watching the teams play I felt there was enough quality there to...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Cheika has gone 6:2 because of the likely conditions: wet, rainy, windy, boggy. (Just another day in paradise). The props sort themselves after Slippers off-colour performance last week, Simmons is there in case a lock gets injured, Mumm is there to replace Pocock if our lineout is getting...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

There's a link in the Wales match thread to an analytical piece on Rugby World that is absolute gold. It analyses the three first half tries in depth and shows why the play was so brilliant and why Wales "looked" so poor. I would have said that analysis on G&GR is pretty good, but that RH...

Nadolo clearly now a superstar. In that game Taqele was very good, but he's got a long way to go to be consistently anywhere near Nadolo.

I have a very bad feeling about this game! The Italians could easily ship a hundred.

Wales vs Australia, 5 November 2016, (1:30am 6 November AEDT) @ Millenium Stadium

Absolutely right. I rewatched the incident several times to write the blog ratings and I couldn't see that Fardy did anything wrong and that it should have been penalty Australia. I think Joubers was looking elsewhere at the time and just penalised him on suspicion.
