    NRC 2016 SF1: Eagles v Rising

I want to see Gordon head-to-head with Lucas next week. I thought his passing from the base was fractionally slow this week. though his brokenfield work was outstanding. But right now I'd say that the Australian order of merit was Genia, daylight, Phipps. Lucas, Gordon. Such a shame that they...

Pumas vs Wallabies - Sunday 9th October @ Twickenham

Now lets not go overboard - we might end up looking like the NZ lineout if we did.

Pumas vs Wallabies - Sunday 9th October @ Twickenham

Yeah but our finishing scrum got totally dicked by the Saffers last week and it looked to me that most problems were on the loose head side. The Argies might do the same thing to us again and it could cost us the match. Arguably it cost us the game last week. So what is Cheika to do? He could do...

Pumas vs Wallabies - Sunday 9th October @ Twickenham

From the teamlist it looks like Robertson will be the finishing prop changing sides. Interesting because all the talk was that Ala'alatoa would switch. Haven't seen Robertson play LHP in the last 12 months, has he ever?

TRC 2016: Matches not involving Australia

The one thing I do like about French refs (amongst a lot I don't) is that they don't mind handing out cards. The supposed best refs in world rugby (Joubert, Owens, Gardner, Barnes, Peyper etc.) all require about 20 infringements in the red zone before they issue a card and then another 20 before...

    Springboks v Wallabies - Sunday 2 October 1am AEST - Loftus Versfeld

Agreed. So why didn't we give it another shot. We made plenty of similar incursions but never tried Kepu/Sio wide of the ruck again?

    Springboks v Wallabies - Sunday 2 October 1am AEST - Loftus Versfeld

We only scored one try in all our invasions into the SA 22. We scored that try by running at them in close a couple of times and then setting our two props, who are both hard runners with the ball, about 10-15 m wide of the ruck to let them run down the 10/12 channel. Draw and pass followed by...

I agree. Stuart Berry is one of the worst ever to blow a Super whistle,

    NZ Domestic Rugby Competitions 2016

I thought Lousi was pretty good this year from the bench and that 2017 would be his breakout year. I understand he wanted to go back to NZ, we certainly are under-manned at lock and he'll be behind some very good locks at the Hurricanes. I don't think he was let go, it just doesn't make sense...

    Springboks v Wallabies - Sunday 2 October 1am AEST - Loftus Versfeld

NZ are very careful to avoid burnout and regularly rotate players to ensure their workloads are managed. As some on this site will tell you, this is a really stupid thing to do and obviously one of the reasons their recent record is so bad.

NRC Rnd 6: QLD Country v NSW Country

Tres drole. Is Jake Gordon rested or injured? If rested he might be just a little bit unhappy, he's been going gangbusters. Along with Simone and Hanigan, he's been the star of the show.

Surely you jest! IMO he's not even the best SA referee.

That looks like a bloody good get to me.

    Waratahs 2017

If Taf was playing for the Waratahs from say round three onwards, we might give the comp a real shake if some players keep progressing at the rate they are. If we look at putting out a team like this, you'd have to think we'd have a shot at it: 1. Ryan/Ta'avao 2. TPN/Latu 3. Kepu/Robertson...

Mouth guard is taking the piss....he's not making a serious comment.

    Waratahs 2017

Providing we can get enough grunt in the scrum, that selection might almost have enough to compete with the best NZ back fives. I'm drooling already.

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

Holloway is in team rehab and won't be available for the EOYT. Next sighting will be in 2017 Super Rugby.
