Yeah - I don’t think so. Nawaqanitwase is a good young player and seems a decent young guy. Campo is a genuine legend of the game and, for a period during his career, the best in the world.

I feel like Andrew Kellaway could be our modern day Marty Roebuck.

That’s actually a fantastic achievement for a 10. Not something to be derided. Normally the first defence of any 9 or 10 that doesn’t play well is that their playing in a losing team or behind an ordinary pack.

One thing I will say is that first Rennie & now a Jones saw value in including Foley. It would have been pretty easy not to. Maybe it is a case of the least worst option but from their comments they both seem to think he has something to offer at this level. Good luck to him. I hope he kills it.

I think Lolesio was better than him last year. Donaldson and Cooper didn’t play enough for a worthwhile comparison. But yes - that’s fair comment but it is really part of a broader picture where we haven’t done well developing 10s for the last decade. I don’t believe that is a sound argument...

Up until last year I would have agreed with you and said Hodge often gets a bad wrap and is a dependable option. I thought his error rate went up significantly last year. Not sure how much that should be held against him now though. I missed a lot of the Rebels games so not sure on how he has...

I don’t disagree with your assessment of him as a player. I thought he was subpar last year and I don’t want him in the sqaud. But he is a senior, experienced player.

If Foley is in the squad it makes sense for him to be in the leadership group.

I got the impression Owen Farrell didn’t share his enthusiasm for Haskell

Eddie loves his league players. Bring in Alfie Langer.

My earlier point wasn’t supposed to be a dig. I genuinely thought your rationale the whole way along was to pick Foley as you had greater confidence in his kicking under pressure. But you then appear to be doubling down by including Hodge or Lonergan in your player groupings - and the fact...

I thought you were picking Foley from his kicking?

    Queensland Reds 2024

Topping up local talent should always be part of the strategy but I am also 100% in favour of a clear strategy to draw 80% of the squad from local talent. Whilst the loss of the NRC is regrettable I feel like the current Hospital Cup - with players from the Reds, Rebels and Drua all playing in...

Yeah - 3 very worthy winners. I assume McReight would’ve been up there in the Pilecki medal votes, but Wilson has been outstanding.

Agree. If Paul Cully wrote that it’s an idiotic thing to say. Pretty sure none of the Brumbies fans think there needs to be a rule change today.

Super Rugby QF 2023 Brumbies vs Hurricanes:

We’ve all scored tries like that haven’t we? It’s like the cricket catch going forward. Look at the controversy with Cameron Green overnight. Reality is you don’t really know. You know you got downward pressure but you can’t be 100% on whether the ball touched the ground. But most try scorers...

Well he wouldn’t start in front of Hooper, McReight or Wilkin and he doesn’t start in front of Scott or Brown and I don’t think he’d be a better finisher than Samu at test level. But he does his role extremely well at the Brumbies.

Genuinely I’ve somehow missed it. What did he do? Or are we talking about the ball to the head - which wasn’t good - but I’m assuming something proceeded that.

I thought Tom Wright was very good. I think he’s maybe getting judged a bit harshly at times.

Everybody makes mistakes. That wasn’t his finest moment, sure, but as far as I recall he’s otherwise never been anything but hard and fair.
