I understand your logic - but if Uelese gets injured they can bring Porecki back to maintain a fit front row.

Springboks v Wallabies, Loftus Versfeld, Sun 9th Jul 1.05am AEST

I was more surprised last year to be honest. Despite how well the Brumbies went I didn’t think he was fantastic at Super level last year but then was very good off the bench for the Wallabies. Ticks all the right boxes and has the experience to go with it.

Team named (I assume someone will post it here soon enough). I wonder if Dave Rennie ever had the quality of players to select from that Jones has been able to name in his first team. (Although still a couple of notable players out).

I dunno. He’s not a big guy but physically seems fine for a 10. He’s no longer a rookie. I feel like a short stint in Europe in a different environment might be the perfect thing for him at this time in his development.

I may be wrong - but I am very confident it was reported at the time or I wouldn’t have mentioned it. Why would I just make something like that up?

I could see those guys all in the 23. I doubt we would out them all on the field at the one time, but it isn’t without merit. Would certainly change our game plan.

Skelton got an opportunity. I just feel like we expected too much from him too soon. He needed time to develop. I seem to recall to pressure of unrealistic expectations caused mental health issues and he sought a change of environment. I must admit I was a doubter if Skelton’s value at test...

Overall Meafou seems a good news story to me. He couldn’t cut it originally and was prepared to go an alternate route to follow his dream. Whatever his work ethic here, he has clearly put in OS. Now he looks like reaping the benefits and he is keen to repay those who put faith in him. I get...

Hey hey ….: rule 6!!!! Wait till I see you at the bottom of a ruck! Completely agree on half backs though.

I’m relying on the eye test here - but I thought he got quite a few turnovers from pilfering. He also seemed pretty good with ball in hand - more god footwork than straight power. The big test for him I feel will be scrum time and in defence. He seems a relatively accurate defender but not a...

I thought Nonggorr scrummed pretty well. Most of the Reds scrum issues were at loose head prop. I also think it was no coincidence that the Reds scrum was noticeably stronger when we had two genuine locks. Nonggorr isn’t replacing Tupou or Ala'alatoa anytime soon but I think Nonngorr was better...

    Wallabies 2023

Why is it depressing? One of our biggest issues playing the NZ teams is the lack of depth in our sqauds. Why wouldn’t we want to retain a 23 year old fly half with test & finals experience. The reality is most of our super rugby squads aren’t going to be world beaters at test level. That...

The irrelevance of openside flankers has been reported for at least 15 yrs. I’m going to continue to remain sceptical for now.

The one who took a significant pay cut last year to stay in Australian rugby?

I was joking. But yes, Johns is excellent kicker and his general vision and play making has been used by rugby coaches before. Slater would also be able to contribute plenty.

I’m not sure of the point of the question. It’s known that he has been training with the Wallaby sqaud along with approx 39 others.

Is this just to avoid his brother? Any chance we could get Slater instead?

I thought there had been comments made by Jones to the effect that it was better for all parties that Michael wasn’t burdened with the captaincy again. Regardless I can’t see him being left out of the initial sqaud. I’d think that was extremely unlikely. On the contrary I’d think Jones would be...
