OK, so if scrumming not as important to winning Tests as some think? If our front row is outside the Top 5 but the team is ranked No.1 internationally with just 1 loss in 2 seasons, scrums can't be THAT important. Which would mean that Ma'afu really isn't as important as some think.

Ummmm...NZ and SA are ranked No. 1 and 2 in the world. Eng and Wales are 4th & 6th. I know who I would rather rate players against. BTW, who cares if Higgers goes?! He's pretty average at Test level anyway and he's not prepared to stick around and either fight for a Wallaby spot or cement it...

If a player could show that they had thought through their position and I thought that they were protesting because they believed in a cause bigger than themselves and wanted to see something in our world improved.....no problem.

Probably more of an indictment on the Wallaby forward pack that they didn't make the scrums or the mauls a contest for possession. No matter what Lancaster's intentions were, the Wallabies could have contested at maul and scrums whenever they wanted if they had the willingness and ability to do so.

Are you Git's brother or something?!? The guy was one of the most over-rated Aussie players and won't ever be remembered as a dominant Test force in any era. A very good player but not much more. And I've yet to see a player spend any meaningful time in the NH and come back to Aus/NZ as better...
