NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2016

Am I imagining it or is there no CCC boys in the above proposed squad? I'd imagine if that came to pass there'd be some disappointment there given they just got up against AICES, CHS I and CHS II. Also given W88 acknowledged their strength in post #77 above.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

If this is correct, the coaches in question should hang their heads in shame. What a moment of elation it must have been for Sheldon to learn of his selection and what an utterly wrenching disappointment it must have been to discover this was the reaction of men he trusted in and looked up to...

    CAS U16s 2016

Very sorry to see Tejcek has also pulled out of the CAS 16s team due to injury. He's a quality player and I wish him a speedy recovery. Best of luck to Ws Thorne coming in as Tejcek's replacement.

    CAS Rugby 2016

^^^Nothing hypothetical about it - Knox Opens got over ISA leaders Auggies reasonably comfortably in this year's trials.

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Incorrect. At #182 I said I rated Williams, didn't know Harris and Zylstra had his work cut out given competition. As it turns out Williams and Harris are in As and Zylstra in Bs behind said competition.

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Thats the point you seem to be struggling to grasp - many of the New boys referred to above are those ex rep/nsw players you no longer want mentioned. And I'm at a complete loss to explain how the other 62 boys selected for GPS and CAS could possibly have made it without playing HM.

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Seems to me most of those selected have less reputation than those on the bench. But happy to be edumacated, so who's been picked on reputation and biased opinion?

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

Alec Sheldon (SGS) has just been picked at 10 for GPS1, so it happens.

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2016

Looking at the team lists, geez there is some talent in this age group. The NSW trials next weekend should showcase some fantastic rugby.

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Neither Bell nor Simi made Sydney in 2014 or 2015 and Wellington played for Country last year but didn't make NSW. So maybe it means they tried another pathway this year (league) and worked extra hard on their rugby as well and have been rewarded with selection. And Im sure the selectors know...

    CAS U16s 2016

Bugger. Still, Andrews (W) gets his opportunity. Hope he goes well.

Anyone have a copy of the program showing 16s teams?

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Have watched these boys since u11s. As you say, the Pres selectors have spoken so enough said on the issue. Good luck to all the boys selected and I'm sure they will do their schools and the AAGPS proud.

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

'Current form' should cover the season or at least the past few weeks. The benefit of having the teams selected after 5 rounds is that it enables selectors to assess how players are faring in the weekly matches rather than relying solely upon 25 - 50 mins (for most) in the artificial construct...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

As a few have pointed out, several of the New boys who have strong rugby and/or league resumes are not in great form this season. I think the teams chosen largely reflect current form, which is a credit to the selectors.

    CAS U16s 2016

@Yep Footy, all scores for u16s are on the CAS website. I see that Byron H-D has been selected for CAS II. Not sure why the selectors would want to cannibalise the CAS 16s to bolster the second opens team and no doubt creating a bit of a headache for the u16s coaches in the process. It seems...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Is that Shore's first win in the age group since starting out as the 13As? If so, congratulations boys and I'm sure it is being savoured in the way only the achievement of a long pursued goal can be. Well done and enjoy.

    CAS Rugby 2016

Interesting decision for Byron H-D having been chosen in both CAS 16s and 2nds. Presumably 'easier' to make NSW in the 16s and stay on selectors radar. Much harder to achieve, esp from CAS II, but a bigger prize if you can make it in in opens. I hope he elects the former, as he has the...

Given CAS select only 2 teams, who do Blue and White play?

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

Just by the by, the View 6, Charlie Rorke is also in year 11. But there is no shame in being outplayed by him - he's a freak who has outplayed pretty much every GPS back rower this season.
