    World Rugby U20 Championship 2019

I'm 50/50 as to whether or not I want Scotland to avoid relegation. Losing = bad obviously. But if we were to be relegated, it'd either highlight the relative lack of investment the SRU has put into the Junior System, or push World Rugby to Expand up to 16 teams as the competition really should be.

    Rebels 2020

Not particularly surprising, even with Coleman gone. Looked to be turning the corner in the first part of NRC 2017?, but then got injured and never performed well enough in cameos to get a real run at it. Hopefully results in opportunity for Hosea and Hanga'ana to come through.

    Proposed Nations Championship

AFAIK Georgia and Romania would both be financially worse off and get fewer matches against tier 1 opposition under the Nations League than they would be under the default "San Francisco" agreement. For all the love of money displayed here among other places, there wasn't actually much set up...

    Rebels 2020

We've got 6 props on the books already (Pone, Fereti, Erasmus, Gibbon, Ainsley & Faulkner) if all of the remaining guys from this year are retained. I have my own opinions on several of those players re their overall quality and match day selection, but I can't imagine we'd be better off with...

    Proposed Nations Championship

Perhaps look at the fact that Georgia and Romania voted and strongly campaigned against the Nations League.

    Rebels 2020

My biggest wish for 2020 is that we actually have a style/way we want to play, and implement in all areas from recruitment to selection to execution. There seems to be not much rhyme or reason the last couple of seasons, beyond getting the 23 "best available" players on the field and see what...

    RD 16: Rebels v Tahs

Roach and Rangi are in form such that if both are fit, they need to be in the team: particularly with finals on the line: lose and I think Uelese will come in per Wallabies request, until then, go for the fit blokes in the form to win you games.

    RD 14: Rebels v Bulls - Fri 17th @7:45 - AAMI Park

AFAIK both Sa'aga and Erasmus were injured at the start of the season (the former is still injured) and Gibbon has been playing well enough that he hasn't gotten a look in.

anyone have the inside running on what the Rising team to take on the Japanese Development squad will look like?

    Rebels 2019

I love seeing the boys out playing for the local sides. Always seemed to be that the clubs who probably didn't "need" the help got the experienced players not in the regular 23 though, so from that perspective it's not so bad.

    Rd 13: Rebels v Reds @ Melbourne 10/5/19 7.45 pm

I'm used to seeing hookers be used as Backrow options but props? What is the world coming to? ;)

    The Israel Folau saga

Humour me. I have a goldfish memory.

    Such as?

    Rebels 2019

If we're as down on non front row forwards as we appear to be (if Esei and Trevor are home it might be less of an issue?) any cover is good cover

    Rd 12: Hurricanes vs Rebels - 04/05 - 3:15pm Westpac Stadium, Wellington

Is big Sam Jeffries not still with the squad? Pretty frustrating if he can't get on the bench ahead of a tighthead.

    The winner is Rugby.

    Rebels 2019

Leicester is Leicester. Any other club and they'd have figured out long ago that something more serious was wrong that couldn't be covered up with a new coach or marquee player. Might be nice to see them relegated. Might be nicer to see them stuck in the bottom 3 or 4 for a few years instead...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Once you get over that 3 or 4 hour mark, where it's not a huge deal, North-South Travel is much easier on the body than East-West Travel.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think it's KevinO who consistently pushes it but: less than 10 home games makes it virtually impossible to have meaningful fan engagement. The sheer randomness of opponents, byes and tours makes season narratives less easy to push as well. I mean, seriously, the Rebels have had 2 home games in...

    Rebels 2019

Both are quality options and as long as we don't lose both I'm happy. Having said that, it's a bit closer to crunch time for Ruru: he needs somewhere he can be a starter if he wants a Canary Jersey. And I'm big on Goddard. There's not many better to learn your craft under than Willie G.
