    Where to for Super Rugby?

Family and things make life busy. I get that. And that's not what I'm getting at. It's the attitude of not my team, I'm not really bothered. And then we wonder why the game struggles to generate media interest.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I was referring to finding the time. Are you getting bored of watching Super Rugby Ao seeing it's exactly the same format?
  3. WorkingClassRugger

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It's honestly not that hard. Quick question. Do you watch both of the Super Rugby Ao games? Be honest now.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Honestly, the Rugby community can be it's own worst enemy in this country. How a 10 week competition featuring some pretty good Rugby cannot maintain your attention is just baffling.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Jesus. Then the game is screwed in this country if you lot cannot get up for literally two games a week.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'd go as far as to allow teams assuming they are privately owned the option of only having 50% Aus eligible playing squads.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Whatever happens we should be doing this regardless. In fact, it's likely the best way to fill out extra teams. Promoting a mix of bringing Aus eligible players home and Argentine/South African/T2 players for new teams.

Super Rugby RD 8: Rebels v Force

I've been watching as much Top League as I can this season and something that has really impressed me with the Japanese game is the willingness of the refs to keep the game moving. Frankly, it's something our refs need to seriously look at.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Not across what would need to likely be 3 divisions of national club competition. If there were such interest then I like to think that it would require a similar approach to that of MLR in the States. Establish a strict criteria and welcome bids from clubs/interested parties to enter EOIs...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

No one official. Then how is he attaining his insights. A friend of a friends, friend. Come on. And you call me 'a little more gullible'.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The mythical inside connection. Yeah, I'll take the word of a Rugby journalist I can put a name and face to as opposed to your masked informant. Hush. Hush.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Without RA, Fiji wouldn't have a structure in place in order to even consider competing. And I find it interesting that the guy who has said he doesn't believe everything he reads in the press is willing buying the position that it's just the NZR involved in the discussion. Even though it has...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

So you'd have a 5 week Aus only competition and then a 11 week TT competition? As opposed to the 10 week Super Rugby Au and 5 week TT we have now? I'd prefer what we currently have with the addition of Fiji to even numbers out as I don't see how it would be of any greater level of benefit. Then move into...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

So what you're proposing is the NRC but with a slightly different format. Which for the record. I'm fine with. I'd go as far as to suggest opening a spot for both the SRU and BRU to enter a their own rep squad in it.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think ultimately the overall structure will come down to the ratings and the value derived from them by the broadcaster. You never know. May be they might decide that Super Rugby TT should be a two phased competition. Much like this season. Fiji in ours. Moana in NZ. Home and away. Crown a local...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

That's probably the only way I'd be willing to discount a combined concept. If we could somehow find an extra 3 professional teams. Not semi-professional. Professional teams to join. Now we could have had 6 if RA/NSW Rugby didn't go all protectionist with the Western Sydney GRR bid. Which would...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

You have to take into account the financial implications for broadcasters. Who pay the bills. What more worthwhile. Two separate comps for the most part offering 2 to 3 games a week to sell. Or a single comp offering between 4-6 games featuring local teams for say 16 weeks? It's pretty easy in...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

That's not what I'm saying and it's pretty clear at that. It's not like the defending teams are allowed to move until the ball is gathered by the 9. The same will apply here. Just instead of the ref calling use it and having the 9 take 5 sec to play on. They will have to actually use it...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It should be as soon as the ref calls use it. The ball must be moved on. No 5 seconds to start it again. Good mailing teams should be able to maintain the momentum. I'd actually like to extend that to rucks as well. We get told that there will be stricter application of the use it or lose it law...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The whole point of operating separately from the direct Union control is to allow the competition to make decision in its based on what is in its best interest. Not RA or NZR's. And a big part of that would be looking to develop our market long term. Which would mean that it will require more...
