Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

It's easier than admitting that McKenzie might just have parachuted a personal favourite in.

I appreciate that he's been better in the Soup this year, but he offered absolutely nothing against the Lions. It's not even so much that I want Pyle in the team as it was that he's a player with a point of difference? At the moment we're looking at a pack of what... Sio Moore Slipper Horwill...

Pyle. He gives good lineout. Neville isn't even in the conversation, he's nowhere near ready for Test rugby. Pyle can work a lineout, is a good jumper, makes his tackles, hits rucks and provides an actual ball-running threat. That he scores tries is a handy bonus. In a distinctly one-paced...

Yes. And going by the stats ran it just as effectively as Simmons does. Simmons must have something going for him that isn't immediately obvious from the sidelines, really can't understand his continued selection at all. Schatz is just... well. I'd hoped we were over the era of workmanline 8s...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Mea culpa! It's still spectacularly chippy.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

You bumped a nearly two-month old thread to say that? Strong posting.

Has Simmons ever had a good Test actually?

Fair enough. I don't know what it is exactly. It's a bit like Breaking Bad for me - good, but not as good as the hype would have you believe.

    Rebels 2014

Complete stich up. Oh well, hopefully he comes out next year with a massive chip on his shoulder and outplays them all again.

I'm probably completely alone in this, but outside of his kicking I think White is a deeply average scrumhalf. But then I've been demanding week-in, week-out, that Phipps be dropped from the Rebels for the last three years, so I wouldn't have been particularly happy either way.

Are you suggesting that a Super Rugby winning international coach might know more than a few random punters on the interwebz? The mental gymnastics are extraordinary.

No no no. Different issue entirely. Deans was an idiot who didn't watch or understand rugby. Link just rocks the boat. See?

    Rebels 2014

Sidey misses far too many tackles. I'm sure he's a nice guy, and a good player to have around the team, but he really isn't good enough to be in the starting XV. And if he is, we've got issues that need addressing.

If that's how you meant it then fair play, I take it back.

Uh huh. You'd be singing another tune if it was suggested that McKenzie be hanged. I probably am the precious one though.

    Stay classy.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

White was dreadful tonight. Should have been dragged at about the 50 minute mark. Deserves his spot in the squad for his season, but he doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. His passing and decision making were very, very, average. Was taking an age to clear from the breakdown as well. I...

    Non-partisan views

As a Rebels supporter there's not a whole lot to really be partisan about. Don't even have to pretend to like Phipps any more. A few selections I'm super keen on though. Betham - I don't care if he's got dodgy hands, he's an absolute beast who makes linebreaks like its cool and scores tries...
