Good summary, BBC backs can really let loose, but they did lack in the scrums and missing some solid defense in middle compared to previous weeks, ie not bringing down Ippy's big forwards.

Could explain some of BBC's softness down the middle, Bronson played his usual wide game, while Peterson's strength is in the mid field and at the break down- not that it was Bronson's fault but I think BBC struggled in the tight five.

I'm feeling some upsets this weekend, 2013 may have a few more twists and turns yet.

Bronson is u17 ... wonder what it would take for him to return for a shot at Aus schools and a GPS premiership.

BBC definitely took their foot off the pedal after going 27-0 up, often happens in schoolboys. The first 20 minutes of Saturday's game was as one sided a game as I have seen for a long time. The scoreline could have easily been a 60+ differential, if not for this and the uncontested scrums.

    He's already 10 kg's bigger.

I heard a rumor that the BBC front row made the ACGS front row carry their bags from the change-room and wait on them at the after game function!! No doubt, if ACGS had gone 'uncontested' against BBC they would have won an otherwise very close game- but they 'manned up' and played real rugby.

Interesting- both BGS and BBC on a rebuild year this year. That must be scary for BGS- having their lunch eaten by a young BBC team. 2014 is looking impressive for BBC- who are the 11 that have another year in the 1st's?

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

Totally against the spirit of the game- the coaches are not supposed to go uncontested unless there are no trained front rowers present. BGS clearly abused, what is supposed to be a safety 'last' option, for a tactical advantage. Yes, Sala played Chairman's XV this year and Tuakipulu GPS 3...

Sorry Bud, every team has to have a full front row on the bench. You just got through telling us how BGS put an experience prop in to replace the 3 and still went to uncontested scrums after one prop leaves the field - totally against the spirit of the game. Against who? The BBC front row...

Nevertheless to go to uncontested scrums halfway through the first half is a total capitulation. All teams are supposes to have a whole front row on the reserve bench. So BGS put an experience prop replacement in the front row and still demanded uncontested scrums?... seriously!

BGS went to uncontested scrum in the first half, no. 3 got injured, they ran on a prop (17) and changed their mind, swapping him for a back rower. How embarrassing for BGS unable to pack a scrum in GPS 1st 15. It definitely leveled the playing field, BBC were starting to get dominance in the...

Yup, although obviously a forced change, GT shouldn't get too excited, BBC just added another 30 cm to the line-out and 10 kg to the scrum.

True, the clock was stopping with the ref: the last kick-off was after full-time. BBC kicked out as soon as they could. Will have to view the video to see, but BBC 2nd row was out of the game with injury, his replacement ran on -actually after full time. Shame some posters just need to...

I'll put some money on BBC with a 40 point start.

BBC won 13's, 14's, 15's, 2nd's and 1st's. The 1st's have a number of decent reserves in front row, locks, back row, inside and outside backs- more depth than last year: they will be competitive with a 'reasonable' injury toll- last year was not reasonable.

I can only assume, Churchie, with it's great history of GPS rugby, has a good rugby program, as well as a strong scholarship program. Also, I'd be very careful about accusing Phillpotts and Barker from BBC of not honoring the GPS agreement on scholarships (I'm assuming that's what you are...

At least one of the current BBC Yr 12's definitely returning in 2014 (Peterson is Yr 11/12 this year) and two others are considering returning, all three would then be in their 3rd Yr of 1st XV.

BSH v BBC: eight tries to zip to College. State High with some work to do, looked gone for all money 10 mins in and three tries down. High did OK when they got some ball but College defense strong. High rallied to compete but too little to late. College has genuine strike power in the backs-...
