Live Chat for Tonga vs All Blecks

Just seen the hakas (or is it hakai in plural). No.21 for tonga looks like Wycliffe Palu. Clever tactic from deans to get him some game team

Channel 9 continues the tradition of absymal free to air rugby coverage...

I absolutely understand C9’s programming for the Friday night as they will be thinking that quite a few of the league crowd will hang around for the blacks/tonga match. I might even do the same myself. The thing is they aren’t showing high quality RWC matches that they could even when...

    RWC - Wallabies v Italy - 11th September 2011

We have to find out if our starting 15 are upto the forwards challenge. We can't win the RWC unless we can atleast get close to parity against teams with forward orientated play. I posted earlier that I think its great having Italy first up for this reason.

Channel 9 continues the tradition of absymal free to air rugby coverage...

except now C9 has additional stations (e.g. Go) that don't show news or prime time shows but instead show reruns adnauseum.

Why Does Everyone Rave About Barnes' Goal Kicking?

This gives me yet another chance to say why I don’t think the wobbs can win this time round unless one of our goal kickers strike a purple patch of form. As a team we don’t yet consistently accumulate points in big games and we are still by and large relying on scoring more tries than the...

    RWC11 'Star'

Complete bias here, but I reckon it could be kurtley. His form has been improving as he has been getting used to playing with the rest of the Wobb backline (remember that he is the only tah in the backline) and I think oppositions will be targeting Diggers, Cooper and Genia heavily.

What to do with JOC (James O'Connor)?

JOC (James O'Connor) to start on the bench (in place of Horne) is my guess.

    RWC - Wallabies v Italy - 11th September 2011

Could we have asked for a better start than a game against a team like italy? Its a game we should win but will also be a tough hitout, especially where we need it most, at the coal face. Its a chance for the Wobbs to prove that we have overcome our weakenesses from the 2007 RWC and put doubt...

RWC Pool of Death / Choke Matches

I think boks v samoa will be real close. Played at north harbour stadium it will effectively be a home game for the samoans. Thats the difference for the boks this time round, they have a hard pool on paper, but when you overlay the fact that the crowds are going to be heavily biased against...

Who'll Be In The 2011 RWC Final?

Pool D is definitely the one that will most likely have greatest impact on the match ups in the knock out phases. Bonus poitns could well decide the ordering

Who'll Be In The 2011 RWC Final?

An actuarial firm has turned their mind to the RWC predictions: http://www.taylorfry.com.au/newsletters/RugbyWorldCupFinal.pdf Unsurprisingly, a wobbs- all blacks final is most statistically likey with AB's most likely to win. Lies, damned lies and statistics and all that.

Richie Bloody McCaw - Appreciation Thread

I agree with Scotty's original post. More specifically, I think Richie has been the main difference between the AB's and Wobbs in the last few years and I think we would have snaffled the bledisloe in 2008 if his injury had of lasted a few weeks longer. Whether Richie is or isn't a cheat is...

One All Black Cheating thread to rule them all

Its in the neatherlands (Zeeland) A remote but beautiful place with wild oysters the size of my hands. I voted poms, especially given their cricket team is #1 at present.

SBW set to walk out on NZRU

To me, SBW is in a weak negotiation position. He can't play for any other nation but needs to play in NZ to be eligible for the blacks. Sure he can he to europe for the money or even become a proboxer but either outcome will only confirm the opinions of him that are held both sides of the...

    WC favourites

Kiwis are still favourites to me, and by some margin. Home ground advantage will be massive. The pomss have been my second tip for a while. I think their style of game is well suited to the RWC. Aus, SA, France and maybe Ireland are all battling it out for 3rd place in my view.

QC (Quade Cooper) cited for knee on McCaw

I reckon he will get a 1-2 game suspension, which expressed as weeks would be 3-4.
