Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2024

Just a heads up, I don't have Smith as eligible until 2027. And 2028 for Tua

    Round 7: Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 6th 7.35PM AEDT @ GIO Stadium

I missed that, originally it was only 3 or 4 weeks and he was supposed to be back for the Brumbies next game. Did they say what ruled him out?

    Round 7: Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 6th 7.35PM AEDT @ GIO Stadium

Tahs saving their worst performances for Australian opposition this year. Finally they do something for the greater good.

    Round 7: Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 6th 7.35PM AEDT @ GIO Stadium

Teams may as well have swapped hookers the way the lineouts have gone tonight. Feels like there's been as many steals each way as there have been lineouts won by the side throwing.

    Round 7: Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 6th 7.35PM AEDT @ GIO Stadium

I have a feeling he's been a big part of Wright's uptick in form the last few weeks. Has a few more options then Muirhead and it has taken the pressure of Wright and let him play his natural game. Will be interesting to see what happens when Muirhead is fit again.

    Round 7: Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 6th 7.35PM AEDT @ GIO Stadium

Tahs only really playing well in their own 22, as soon as they get out they lose their heads a bit and the Brumbies end straight back down there.

    Round 7: Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 6th 7.35PM AEDT @ GIO Stadium

Close as the score is it feels like the tahs are stretched about as far as they'll go here.

    Western Force 2024

Which side of the scrum is he going to pack down on?

Rd 7: Auckland Blues vs Western Force, Fri, April 5 2024

They do look a bit of a different side at home, but I also think they probably targeted that game from the pre season. The were similarly up for the Brumbies but generally look like they've thrown up the white flag for kiwi opposition. Focusing everything on the handful of games they see as...

    Rebels v Drua

There's definitely more finesse in Darby's game and he might not ever be Duhan big, but he's not going to have too much trouble running over blokes. Probably won't need to maximise his size either, at least not at the expense of pace. It's hard to find good pics of him next to another player...

    Rebels v Drua

Darby is zippy and he still has some filling out to do, but at a listed height and weight of 6'3" and 95kg he falls pretty firmly in that second group of bigger wingers. He has at least 10kg on Capuozzo, Dyer and Attissogbe. At 20 it remains to be seen how big he'll get, particularly given he's...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2024

Yeah, a bit surprised at the lack of Reds names from the wider squad given its the bye round. Might be that most of them take the chance for a bit of leave over this weekend though (rather than being held back by the Reds).

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

It's been in the works for a while, but the days of the Adidas balls are officially done: https://www.nzrugby.co.nz/news-and-events/latest-news/gilbert-announces-deal-with-new-zealand-rugby/ Gilbert has come onboard as New Zealand's official ball supplier.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

There's a lot of shaky ground when it comes to a league clubs, but generally speaking our sides should be working with them wherever possible. The largely alternate seasons make it easier to share resources and there isn't the same direct competition for eyeballs and playing talent there is with...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Would depend on what RA viewed the likely and maximum cost of that legal action versus the costs of keeping the Rebels going under these terms for another few years. All comes down to whether there's enough money in this to not just clear the Rebels debt but to carry them through to ongoing...
