    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Yeah, it seems like this play is as much about getting another tenant in to help make the stadium happen. That might help in getting a bit more money flowing if the stadium is dead in the water without it though.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The main issue for RA is probably that a deal that's enough money for the rebels to survive a year or two but the just end up back in the same situation leaves RA on the hook again and worse off overall. In that situation they probably see it as better to pull the bandaid now and restructure the...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Easily the most positive development for the Rebels this year, I think they'll need to upper end of that 20-30 million range to get it done though, they'll need a solid runway to turn things around given the rate at which they've been losing money.

    Round 7: Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 6th 7.35PM AEDT @ GIO Stadium

That ongoing concussion issue for Ned Slack-Smith is troubling.

    Queensland Reds 2024

Yeah, picked up my tickets as well, and was not limited to the number of members passes we had. Pricing is the same as a standard super rugby game which feels like a nice concession after how expensive all the lions tickets have been.

    Refereeing decisions

Yeah, there was no malice in it and from what I can tell our game just doesn't produce too many opportunities for them, but with them having been outlawed in similar sports it looks like a no brainer for us to follow suit. Given how rare they are it shouldn't really have a negative impact on...

    Round 7: Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 6th 7.35PM AEDT @ GIO Stadium

Bell is touch and go and it sounds like Porecki is still a couple of weeks off - probably not until after the bye. Vailanu likely out with a hamstring issue too. Conversely I think there's a chance Ala'alatoa is back for the Brumbies. I haven't seen a recent update but I understand he was...

Souths are the big movers for mine, they have recruited well bringing in Roibiluku and Vest with Sean Farrel also back from Italy and Toutai Kefu joining the coaching setup. They should still get Harry McLaughlin-Phillips for most of the season too. They're otherwise less exposed to any Rebels...

    Wallabies 2024

Aside from wikipedia mot being the best of sources Tongan Australian just means he has citizenship which has no bearing on eligibility. He may have initially arrived in Australia in 2017 but wasn't born or raised here and played for Panasonic in 2019 and the LA Gilitinis in 2021, either stint...

    Wallabies 2024

Vailanu's eligibility remains unclear to me, but unless he has a parent/grand parent born here I don't think he'll be eligible until 2027.

On a 5 year turn around - there's no way a residency pick from QPR will make the 27 world cup for another country

He has some sort of Academy/EPS at least: https://reds.rugby/news/junior-wallabies-stars-commit-to-queensland-rugby-2023816 Given the other names in that article (Harry McLaughlin-Phillips, Max Craig, Tim Ryan and John Bryant) you'd have to think he's very much in the fold.

I don't think this is too outlandish but Lock would have to be the most unlikely position given the demands for them in the pro game over the past few years.

Not as an in season transfer. Paisami was released from the Rebels around 2018, came up to Brisbane and got a crack with Brisbane City in 2019 and picked up his Reds contract at the end of 2019.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The most recent one I remember is Sef Fa'agase from the Rebels to the Reds in the 2022 season. Actually played the first round for the Rebels against the Reds before eventually playing for the Reds in round 12. Ruan Smith also went Rebels to Reds in 2020, but I think that was split between...

    Wallabies 2024

I reckon there's a big difference between leaving overseas and leaving the code altogether - the overseas player remains wallaby eligible. That said some of the rumours around Petaia are to league or a crack at NFL, though that won't be a factor until he has signed something. The other...
