    Waratahs 2024

Not sure how directly it compares given the QRU's different structure and the 2023 report yet to be published, but on the face of it that sponsorship revenue looks a bit dire. QRU have had over $5 million for 21 and 22 compared to the tahs ~ $3.3 million in 2023, which is itself an up tick of...

I think Jorgensen is probably getting paid overs on future promise, Su'ualli is a different question but harder to quantify until he arrives. That's more from a whole of contract perspective though. I'd also contend the current salary cap is fundamentally broken and needs significant reform. I'd...

    Australian Rugby / RA

There's much more to it than that though - the tahs are probably now sitting with the worst managed pathway, at least when it comes to that "final mile" of preparing players for professionalism. It leaves them in a place where, relative to the talent base in NSW, they are "over recruiting"...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Hard to claim White to the Force in that category when the Brumbies wanted to keep him but lost him because his RA top up was reduced. From those Brumbies likely on top ups I think only Ikitau and Slipper were announced as re-signed after Su'ualli and I wouldn't be surprised if Slipper's...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

No, 8th and 9th tied on 23 points in 2022, but last year 8th and 9th tied on 24 points.

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2024

Debuted for the Brumbies in 2022 but played NPC seasons every year afterwards that may have reset his eligibility. Looks like 2027 at the earliest. Likely depends on how long he was back in NZ for those NPC seasons - season runs around 2 months and I think the reset period is 3 months.

    Wallabies 2024

Not sure Swinton balances so well with the rest of our back row options, particularly at lineout time. If he was hanging around I think he'd probably be worth looking at given his form, but given he's going overseas I'm not sure we bother.

Crusaders v Reds: International Star Wars Day 4:35pm NZST

Big game for the Reds. Probably don't need the win to make the finals, but we need to show we can win the games we should, and that we can win in NZ. Now that we have beaten the Chiefs and run the Hurricanes, Blues and Brumbies right to the death we've shown we're in with a chance against any...

    Queensland Reds 2024

Bit of a pity it's the Rebels and the Force as the remaining home games as they don't traditionally draw as many. Rebels might be a bit different this year with everything going on there though. The Blues and Highlanders games have definitely generated some buzz though. A win against the...

Round 10: Waratahs v Chiefs. Friday 26th April 7:35 pm

I do think part of the problem has been Coleman's list management - way too many 6/8s, not enough locks, no depth at fullback, slow to react to season long injuries, too many solid players leaving after getting good time and not enough time given to some of the young players coming through. Even...

    Try of the year 2024

Reds again with the try of the year: More of an individual effort but it's a beauty.

He's such a flog. Also that is some top notch caption work on that post.

    Round 10: Brumbies v Hurricanes Sat 27th 2.35PM @ GIO STADIUM

Huge effort from the Brumbies here. Massive turn around from last week and a big showing from some of their key players. Hurricanes weakness this year appears to be "the afternoon".

Very nicely done. It's a whole different Brumbies side this week.
