    All Blacks Northern Tour 2018

I believe this will be the core 32 man squad and not including the additional players for the Japan game

    NZ domestic competitions 2018

It's a little bit different than this actually. Auckland can finish 1st even if they lose/draw vs Harbour as they only need 2 competition points Northland still have a game left so can still leapfrog Otago into 3rd if Waikato beat Otago.

Good find. Hope comes back and the Blues have a spot for him. Very much a Blues man.

    Global Rapid Rugby

Whilst North Harbour don't get great crowds I find this to be a bullshit generalisation. Blues crowds have actually been decent considering how shit they have been for almost all of the last decade. For one, Blues crowds at Albany aren't that bad and would be better than Clan crowds at...

Can't agree here at all. He's way too small. He tries hard but when he's up against a big physical pack he has no impact at all.

    The Rugby Championship 2018

I completely agree. BB still looks like a fullback playing 10 to me - Mo'unga more of a natural 10.

    The Rugby Championship 2018

In Welly the ABs played the dual-fullback back-3 and it did not work. This is the strongest back 3 the ABs can put out on the park at the moment unless the put BB to 15 and Ben From Accounts to 14 but they won't do that. Jordie just doesn't have the form to warrant selection at the moment. I'd...

Auckland got out of jail. Wellington were the better team for most of the game. However - Auckland stepped up and took their chances. Faiane really stepped up at the end - leading from the front - he is having some M10 Cup season.

    The Rugby Championship 2018

Very happy to see that midfield selected and Mo'unga on the bench. All Blacks team to meet South Africa: Ben Smith, Waisake Naholo, Jack Goodhue, Sonny Bill Williams, Rieko Ioane, Beauden Barrett, Aaron Smith, Kieran Read (c), Sam Cane, Shannon Frizell, Scott Barrett, Sam Whitelock, Owen...

In my opinion Frizell should be in the running for the number 1 blindside spot. I thought he had a fine game yesterday, defensively staunch - think he topped the tackle count with 20 odd? As we saw in the Argie Nelson test he can certainly ball run. I've never been convinced by Squire - when the...

It speaks to the shambles at the Blues that Manu was called in to the Blues this season due to injuries and not once did Tana think about playing him in the midfield. Instead he stuffed around with Rieko at 12 and at one stage Collins at 13. Great job Tana... As for Rayasi yes he looks a class...

Auckland Blues To Infinity and Beyond

I was impressed by Frizell in his first start in the 6 jersey vs Argie. My issue is with Squire who somehow seems to have the 6 jersey on lockdown. The guy is a flat track bully who loves a cheap shot and goes missing/gets injured when the going gets tough. Next.

Excellent - Rieko gives himself a real chance to become an AB great and Akira gives himself a real chance to become a full time All Black. I can't wait to see new Blues forwards coach Coventry work with Akira next year. He's already indicated his goal is to get Akira into the All Blacks.

Auckland were brilliant - players who played out of their skin were Ruru, Faiane, Manu, Nanai and Whetton. Papali'i and Akira were all class as per usual.

Nonu actually played really well in his last stint with the Blues (2014). He had a very good season. It was the first stint (2012) where he was rubbish.

Niko Jones has just been named in the NZ Schools development camp squad from which the NZ Schools squad will be picked. I'd say he'll be involved in the Jock Hobbs U19 tournament next year.

That was the best Auckland performance in a number of seasons. The ticker in defence was outstanding and the brains in attack a wonderful sight - a high functioning backline hasnt been sense for yonks in Auckland rugby (an actual backline not a great bunch of athletes playing in the backs) -...
