Leger - NZ U20 midfield back last year. Talented but prone to errors and suspect defense. He is better suited to 12. Of course Tana picks him at 13 and Rieko (who is better suited to 13) at 12. Nice one Tana. Hyland - winger - on debut - not the typical Blues winger but really impressed at the...

Yeah what the Blues need is a tough southern man to be coach.... that will sort them.... just like when Frank Oliver coached them in 2001.....oh wait....

Yep gone for the season (ACL). Trainor was rubbish last year but had an outstanding Brisbane 10s so should be interesting to see how he goes.

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

Helps if Rieko is given an extended crack at 13. He is a proper 13. SBW is a proper 12. Perofeta is the best talent at 10 they have had in a long time. If they can give that axis some time to develop it could really propel the Blues to a new level. Realistically who else would the Blues put at...

Super Rugby Round 4, 2018 - Jaguares vs Waratahs @ Buenos Aires

When Wells is your best performing forward you are in big trouble. From a neutral's perspective I thought the winning of the game was the Jags winning the gainline with ease in the first half. They had their tails up after the early try and were just able to consistently get front foot ball...

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

Blues have chosen Rieko and SBW in midfield. Best Blues midfield in a long time. They still look very weak at 9 (their best halfback is on the bench) and at 7 (the best 3 Blues opensides are injured). Blues will struggle against the Lions but the midfield should be worth a watch.

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

Great question. The line from Tana has been around 'communication' but I think that is overplayed especially now that the Blues seem to have a 10 who seems to play with some real conviction and doesn't need to be babysat (Gatland vs Ihaia West). At times Nanai can sometimes overplay his hand...

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

Blues fans everywhere celebrate as Collins is benched. Blues get a boost in the loosies as Kaino and Tupou return - a huge upgrade on Preston/Kirikiri SBW out for the Blues but it gives the talented TJ Faiane a chance at 12. Faiane's big question mark will be on defence but will offer more...

Based off of what? The Lions crowds have gone up in recent years. The Bulls have gone down. The Bulls-Lions clash in Pretoria this weekend though should see a big crowd you would think.

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

I can't understand the thinking of this midfield - both way too similar - Blues need a proper centre who can create space for the All Black wingers. I reckon they'd be better off with Rieko at 13 and Caleb Clarke at 11. The Lions crowds have risen a lot compared a few years ago (amazing what...

    Un-Australian Activities 2018

Duffie plays with the spirit of Polynesian B-Ball (I actually think he has some Samoan blood) whereas Michael Collins plays with the spirit of Phil Collins. I think Black is done - replaced by the underwhelming Kirkpatrick. However, Perofeta should be back after the Blues have their first bye...

    Sydney 7's: 26-28 January

Etene Nanai replaces Joe Weber in the NZ squad. Caleb Clarke 13th man. Yes the same Nanai who was in the NZ Schoolboys last year - he turned down the Warriors and has signed with the Chiefs it is believed. Was a schoolboy freak - he should be fun to watch.

    NZ domestic competitions 2017

Yep good to see Auckland play to their potential. The loosies were all exceptional and the backline looked much better with a proper midfield of Faiane at 12, Aso at 13 and Nanai at fullback
