McCaw finds a new way to cheat

I'm willing to be corrected about this, although I still think it's dangerous. At the extreme, a couple fo Saffers have tried to twist off David Pocock's head. I'll have a look at it again and yes, maybe I'll post a video. :)

McCaw finds a new way to cheat

1, 2, 3, 4 . . . ;) OK, apart from winding up the less bright Kiwi supporters, I'm making a serious point about this kind of tackle. It's illegal (offside) and dangerous.

McCaw finds a new way to cheat

OK, Richie's not the only one, but he's in the vanguard. Instead of clearing out by pushing players back, he's clearing out by pulling them from the opposition side. Apart from the fact that it's offside as soon as the ruck is formed, I reckon this kind of grapple move is dangerous. I hope the...

Wallabies vs Wales - Suncorp Stadium June 9

I missed the bit where we're still argueing about selections. Basically it works liek this: Robbie selects the best (i.e., his favourite) players and then tries to find places for them on the field. It explains almost every bizarre selection decision in this game and others (excpt maybe...

Wallabies vs Wales - Suncorp Stadium June 9

Deans picks only one specialist openside in the whole RWC squad, then he puts two on the field at the same time. He's breaking my brain.

    Who's to Blame?

Ok, I'm going to make this point just one last time. The ruck ball was fine for most of the night. The piggies did a reasonable job of clearing out. But then Genia deliberately waited 5 seconds at every ruck, looking around, allowing the defence to reset and make the rush-up so effective. Either...

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

A few people have put the boot into Genia but not nearly enough. I wouldn't care except it makes me worry that not enough people appreciate the value of quick ball. I'd go as far as saying it's the whole bloody point of rugby. Genia played like no-one in his life had ever suggested that getting...

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

If Genia has prosecuted the quick ball option a few times we would have won. No doubt about it. I watched the game with Jonnosan and we thought it was like Genia had to ask the Sweaties permission to pick the ball up. "You blokes ready?" "Aye!" "You sure?" "Aye" "Ok, here we come."

    Wallabies vs Scotland - 5 June 2012

Haven't read every comment on here yet but surely Will Genia gets Worst of the Match. Not once - ONCE! - did he try to create quick ball. The ball was sitting there, getting wet, and he was looking around and around like an idiot. Me and Bob Dwyer were screaming at our TVs (I'm fairly sure).

    Hello Greg. Hello Iain.

Press releases from the ARU Media Unit

Aaargh! You've crossed a line there ACR: (1) for suggesting that the semi-colon is underused instead of grotesquely overused; and (2) by misusing it. As someone who reluctantly reads undergraduate writing for a living, I can tell you that almost all semi-colons are incorrectly used instead of...

    Wallabies 40 man squad

Wait, what? What did Mogg do? I mean, he shouldn't have been picked in the first place, but why pick him and then drop him?

Waratahs vs Hurricanes - Super Rugby 2012 Rd 15

You've nailed it, mate. Barnes is the worst player in the side. He is absolutely awful. Fatprop makes the excuse that he's getting slow ball. Fair enough, but still, he can't kick or pass in the position that is supposed to do those two things really well. Cull! Piggies? It's weird. They have...

Rebels vs Brumbies Super Rugby Rnd 15 2012

Nice work paradox. Can we have a Scarf Award for most moderators abused?

Slim, are you suggesting that th ref favoured the Rebels? Because if you are, you need to give yourself several sharp uppercuts, preferably leading to brain death.

Brad Thorn's gym training and physical philosophy.

Gee, those glute thrusts could really help you in the ... power zone.

    Wallabies 40 man squad

If Higgers starts then the locks have to stay 100% in the ruck zone cleaning out. If we see Sharpey or anyone else play loose then we'll know utterly bad this coaching team is.

Sorry guys, me and Bob Dwyer have never seen him play tight, but I guess that's just us. :)

    Wallabies 40 man squad

Liquor box, can you really not see why some people are iffy on Higgers? You make him sound like the complete loose forward, beyond question. He may or may not be the best 6 or 8 this season, but he leaves a lot to be desired in his workrate. Pretty obvious I would have thought.
