NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2013

The June long week end is fast approaching, there must be some news on team developments and shadow boxing to be shared for all ages. I think there may be a new format for the competition....no grand final day at a single venue?

    ISA Rugby 2013

this was a school match not reps, unfortunately coaches in U16 comps are very willing to have their charges manipulate the scrum rules. I have seen a couple of juniors teams not get competition as a chain of opposition coaches call non contested very early in the game when it is become clear...

    ISA Rugby 2013

It is likely to come into it but a full age squad would be close to one coach load so the costs shouldn't increase more than marginal amounts, once individual teams are split the costs would increase significantly.

    ISA Rugby 2013

Last Years ISA 16 were particularly strong, their performance may have deserved a few more than the less than a handful NSW School jumpers. (The deciding match for the ISA 1st Division 16s Championship, I hear was won with the rugby equivalent of an underarm bowl... calling for an uncontested...

School boy football is about participation teams need squads of around 22 splitting a comp based on an individual teams merits will increase the number of students that do not get an opportunity to participate as fully as possible and is likely to diminish interest. It will reduce the number...

Sydney Junior Rugby Union - 2013

can you expand on this assertion as apparently vision isn't always what it is perceived to be or the apparent match with your perception doesn't exist

    Schoolboy Rugby needs a review?

moved from another thread on request in case there are any meetings coming up to discuss;) posted a month ago building some foundations where they are needed (at club level) rather than a top down may add more relevance (to the JGS that seem to fade in interested numbers toward the end of...

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

An invitational friendly/demo match is a silly thing to get fired up about, but it still seems to follow a familiar theme, and coincidently enough GPSOLDBOY likes that this seven a side could have been organised from just about one squad if there are 60 in each so asking two helps ensure a game...

    is "quixotic WIIFM" an oxymoron?

Sydney Junior Rugby Union - 2013

NSW 1 and NSW2 would be great as it will mean all players will have two bites at the cherry Private school rep platers will not have to play for 4 teams at once to consolidate their selection chances, 16 year olds should have time for school work in amongst the footy growing bodies...and as we...

Sydney Junior Rugby Union - 2013

Thanks HJ ^^ "We do not have sufficient volunteer administrative talent, and resources in Heavensgame grass roots to support inefficient and Quixotic WII-FM practices." It was just Maggie "there is no such thing a Society" Thatcher that died recently, I believe WIIFM will live a long and...

TKS v TSC it is then eh. fits this thread beautifully may be more an add for the horror movie "the human centipede" than anything Kev has done

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

"all Quite Innocent" the silence is deafening did the chain start at Rugby Mum2's "Top GPS School" and get passed around before being allowed out, I have asked around and there are a few that knew nought of it

sign on sheets are visible on budah if you can negotiate your way through it this tells you who is registered or on the sign on sheets, not necessarily who played, but it is a start

JGS or NGS? Which of the metro Squads and have they been training in secrete since the break-up a month ago Do you find conversations difficult to hear over the low rumbling of imminent earth quakes and dog whistles are deafening over the telephone. Is this a secrete squirrel exercise for only...

    ISA Rugby 2013

From "I Like to watch" last year "Always a tough gig to select a team based on one trial and as has been noted in the past especially when one trialling team is only one school allowing combinations to work better than the mix of Div1 and Div 2 schools. The advantage is selection will lie with...
