Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

I know I type in riddles a bit, that's for my own entertainment a couple of you got it and thought about it I know that many here are proud parents and identifiable with a little cross referencing and the help of a few of last years rep programs. It may not feel it judicious for them to have...
  2. sarcophilus

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

I am guessing the discussion is about higher level selections in national gold squads or State.and birthdays I know there is, under the ARU Rules or regulations a requirement for players to be assessed and significant levels of paper work to be completed before a player plays up more than one...

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

I did get that you don't share a son I was just running with your quip "she might be my wife" I will try to limit to one thought and a brief "proof" not so many essays I hope my ranting didn't drive RM2 to removing her posts as the intention is play not to offend, as I did not sire a son at 19...
  4. sarcophilus

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

There are suggestions and examples through this thread and elsewhere that imply these schools yield a heavy influence over junior programs provided by the ARU as well as team selection that should be outside these schools control or influence These schools are generously supporting the gold...

  6. sarcophilus

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

I have been discussing unfairness and politics and relating it to Rugby weather it is gold squad or other school boy related stuff as per the title of this thread surely the point is perceived inequalities and their causes. Addressing an opine and demonstrating where it is wrong may help...

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

we earnt the right to mannage the game like we earnt our money/influence... the old fashioned way....inheritted it? The captains of industry, solicitors and accountants have been gettin tradesmen in for years so their friends from chambers can remark on their wonderful decorating skills at...

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

So the private schools help ARU build the barrel and the clubs, and schools government and outside the public and wannabe public school systems stock it with the fish. Although the JGS etc system takes a long view of developing Club players there are a few interested entities that could well...

Hey John Alternatively if you think their all gits let them know Given you appear to have signed up to post this 10 months out of the season, just to tell them, you too would be well within your rights to wear the GIT badge as well I'm lookingk forward to a new spice in the recipe.

  13. sarcophilus

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

The club system is OK but unfortunately usually relies on a handful enthusiastic volunteers and benevolent sponsors. This may not work so well if your son has to compete with theirs for a spot. Supporting the club by being involved yourself may counter or moderate this a bit and unless you are...

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

I am guessing but given the public service nature of that characters posts it may not be appropriate for CTPE to reply whether they are likely or potential you may find those players are more likely to be with the national God squad and not this Junior gold squad or whatever they are called...

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

That's a shame might explain their result and the misguided pre match bragging reported in other threads Didn't see the games but in these, and the reports seem to be from a lot that were understandably happy with the result, cases I am sure a few of the NSW lads or those that did just miss out...

2012 National Schools Rugby Sevens Tournament

Mate I love the way you kept walking into them, hands low and chin out Your showing the testicular fortitude lacking from the teams you so bravely defend who seem to disappear when their idea of place in the universe is challenged
