Reds vs Brumbies, Lang Park, 2nd March 2018 @ 7:00pm AEST

Listening to that interaction between the ref and tmo was cancerous

Junior rugby based on weight classes

Apologies I meant higher age group, not division. I don’t think most of the southern clubs put a team in every division I’d be fairly certain east and most of the west are the same id hazard a guess it’s only the north/north west in junior strong holds where they are consistently pumping out...

Junior rugby based on weight classes

I’d hazard a guess I played juniors far more recently than you mate and have worked consistently in junior sport since - assumptions make an ass out of you and me all I’ve got are my own personal experiences, same as everyone else. As for junior drop out rates have you actually seen any data...

Junior rugby based on weight classes

My mind just boggles by this all, I don’t know weather it’s a case of I’m just being too crass cause I don’t have kids or parents being over protective but I’m astounded that people are ok with singling out a kid for his size, going “they MAY hurt my kid, (it’s a contact sport let’s not forget)...

Junior rugby based on weight classes

Easy fix solution, put the emphasis on smaller kids moving down rather than bigger kids moving up.

Junior rugby based on weight classes

It’s a pretty tough go on the 20kg heavier kid, “hey Sione, sorry your DNA makes you a little bit bigger than everyone else, we are going to make you play up an age, leave all your friends behind, oh what’s that - your club doesn’t have a team in the age group above, damn that sucks you’ll have...

Junior rugby based on weight classes

Oh really? That’s seems so silly, if they’re small enough and not particularly skilful let them go down

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Packed out stadiums - check Massive tv rights deals - check People that have spent countless hours perfecting their art - check Some sort of physical exertion - check Unknown competitive outcome - check I’m struggling to see the difference??

Junior rugby based on weight classes

So what I got out of reading that is 1) if a player is too small they can go an age group (which is already a thing) 2) if a kid is massive, so long as they’re not particularly fit and not particularly skilful (which is a very decent chunk of these “big” kids) then they’re not getting moved.

    Sydney Subbies 2018

So how does it work with the lower divisions in terms of finding out what clubs are in what division? I know first 3 have been sorted when does the rest get released?

    Reds 2018

That’s a horrible rebuttal, Allan has always been way more naturally talented, he would excel in any environment And for just as long they’ve been butchering development of talent

    Reds 2018

Couldn’t disagree more. Experience may come from time and scrummaging a lot but it’s useless if he isn’t getting the best guidance and mentoring possible, so what if he goes overseas to the ITM cup? He’d get more games and higher quality of game playing ITM cup than NRC Look at mike Ala'alatoa...

    Reds 2018

id love to see Thor spend a few seasons in the ITM Cup, would be a good combo of working on his strengths like his handling skills+running game but also working on his weaknesses in tight with some good nz forwards and coaches looking after him

    Waratahs 2018

waratahs 10's squad announced, not too bad minus izzy and hooper not being involved Has anyone watched a tahs "team announcement" video on facebook? The noises it makes is fucking horrible, who bloody thought it was a good idea to throw those sounds in there?

    Waratahs 2018

Because people develop at different rates, I just think we limit ourselves too much in Union by having this theory that young is better. The great man in my profile pic peter hewat was what 27 when he debuted? And managed to score the same amount of points as the great Matt Burke did in about...

Who have we signed in the last few seasons that is 23-24 that wasn’t already contracted at another super team/with the 7’s program??

    Waratahs 2018

I’d argue jersey flag is just a professional environment as shute shield. The money is more plentiful in that there are more players receiving it but again I can’t imagine it’s much different to what shute shield players get (wether it’s above or below the table is a different matter all...

    Waratahs 2018

Yea that’s true I guess. I suppose unless it’s a Hooper, G.smith, Giteau type of player then maybe they don’t contract them until they’re 21-22, I feel some players make it as professionals because they’ve come up through the ranks, got a contract very early on and coaches are like “fuck it...
