    Queensland Reds 2024

My recollection of Hodgeman is that he would be rated a bit higher than Matt Gibbon. I won't be surprised to see him around the Wallabies next year.

    John I Dent Cup 2023

Just a short update to keep the Canberra competition in the public eye. Tuggeranong Vikings minor premiers 2023. Gungahlin Eagles finished second with a string of late wins. Royals and Wests finished in third and fourth. Eagles defeated Vikings 35 - 24 in the major semi and progress to the...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Didn't Ollie Sapsford get a run with the A team recently. Could play or cover 12 or 13. I have it in mind that Flook was also injured a week or two ago. Is that correct?

Blake Schoupp has also progressed to the RWC squad.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Dad Ron played centre for Western Suburbs before moving to the Raiders. He was a big, strong centre, not at all like Matt.

Dru highliighted the word "Boomer" in your post that he referenced. I take that to mean he was asking for an explanation of that term rather than the message in the post. Your couple of responses since seem to me to have missed the point. Are you able to explain what you mean by a "Boomer...

For me, success at this RWC will be to get out of the pool stages, hopefully undefeated, and be in with a shot to win a QF. Winning a SF or more would be like waking from a 20 year old nightmare. The issues that I see could come to bite us, are : i) the captaincy' ii) the lack of a...

    Wallabies 2023

This is so very true. My question is why is it so when we've had NZers and Aussies as head coach but the same issues arise. As much as I think the coaches and administrators should be deaf to the criticisms in the press and by fans on social media, I wonder if they are influenced by the...

    Wallabies 2023

I think that would be wrong KOB. The game against France is the last chance to get the selected team on the field and bed down systems and combinations. None of the "injured" players should be part of that but should come back in the Aus A games that have been scheduled in order to have them in...

I think Gleeson is purely an 8 and will play in one or two of the minor pool games. But he won't displace Rob Valetini in the first XXiii, and probably won't get a bench spot in front of Rob Leota who can cover more spots in the forwards. Gleeson's inclusion is a good thing.

BH who are the experienced heads who have been replaced by others who are inferior players at Super level? Michael Hooper is replaced by Fraser McReight and I think that would have happened even had Hooper not been injured. Fraser has been the superior player this year and last at Super level...

Hardly due to Donaldson's presence though to be honest. Wallabies were well behind when he was replaced by Noah, and stormed home for the win.

And having a vacant overseas spot could open an opportunity to bring Scott Sio in if there's an injury in the front row.

First, the good things about the squad. Six props is a great start. I think one or two of the squads already announced only have 5, and certainly there have been calls here to only take 5, but 6 is a necessity to get through the rigours of a RWC. Three hookers again is a necessity. Three...

Top ups is one area of comcern, so too is the compulsory rests for players during the Super season. Upwards of eight Brumbies who were forced to rest have either been dropped or will miss the RWC through injury. A potential two more wins during the season would have placed them in a good spot to...
