    Bledisloe 2 2023 @ Dunedin 12:35PM Sat 5 Aug

I've noticed that Dave Porecki is extremely reluctant to give the ball to the halfback when a maul is brought to a standstill. Mostly ends in a scrum to the opposition.

I haven't seen the La Rochelle game so can't comment on his form over there. Fact is that Eddie has ignored the best maul operator in the country in Cadeyrn Neville. Don't know why, when his form otherwise has had him in the top two or three locks throughout the Super season.

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

ABs are a world class team and a team full of world class players. We had two players who matched or bettered their opposite numbers in Angus Bell and Rob Valetini so those two put in World XV performances. Two others were close to their direct opponents in Allan Ala'alatoa and Nick Frost...

Not really so far off his best Molman. A couple of years where he was hindered by injury but last year was much stronger. His inclusion would allow Slipper to move to TH, and would be an improvement over any of the alternatives.

    Wallabies 2023

I have been, and remain, a vocal Cheika critic, but he has it all over Eddie as a coach leading into a RWC with a short lead-in period. Both have essentially inherited the team put together by his predecessor with almost no time or opportunity to effect major change to the players or the way...

    Bledisloe 2 2023 @ Dunedin 12:35PM Sat 5 Aug

I know that's supposed to be his role KOB, but how many ABs mauls did he disrupt and how many Wallaby mauls did he dominate to see a try scored? The ABs maul was all over ours right throughout the game. He then has so few involvements in other aspects of the game, and if his impact at scrum time...

    Bledisloe 2 2023 @ Dunedin 12:35PM Sat 5 Aug

Has Skelton been worth it? Even with one of the biggest packs the Wallabies have ever fielded, the ABs were able to win the scrum battle. Is this an indication that Skelton still doesn't use his weight to good effect in the scrum? And where is his much vaunted maul destruction involvement? Four...

I think you have nailed the front row. The only improvement come RWC time if Tupou and Ala'alatoa don't make it back would be to bring Scott Sio into the squad. After his defensive efforts last night, I can see Eddie persisting with Tom Hooper at 7. This is the way the game is going...

Stats confirm my observation that Valetini and Hooper were the outstanding defensive players in the match. Bell also put in a good shift. The three best players for the Wallabies.

I reckon the odds of Slipper moving to THP and Scott Sio coming in are shortening.

Agree with most of this WF. In my opinion, Rob Valetini was best of the Wallabies, nearly BOG, Angus Bell was excellent as was Allan Ala'alatoa until he went off injured. Tom Hooper put in the best No 7 performance of TRC series for the Wallabies. Others claim he didn't have the speed for a No...

That in itself speaks volumes about the risk of playing him in the lead up to and in the RWC. He is right now a shadow of his former self and does not warrant being in the team.

Uelese turned the ball over with his first two touches. He had one lineout throw that could have been called crooked but wasn't and hus defence near our try line was poor. I am another who hopes this particular experiment is over.

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

It struck me that some, perhaps most, of the Wallabies were half cooked in the pre-match "warm up". WTF would you run the side half way into the ground in a warm up. Most of them had already played a game before the kick off. Eddie is confirming his absolute ignorance of the game.
  16. Brumby Runner

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

If so, the Wallabies are the losers.
  17. Brumby Runner

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

Still not a winning combination, though more like the way I thought they would line up. Jordan's kicking was very much below par and if he doesn't improve that dramatically then he is not the answer at 15. Kellaway is no better defensively than Tom Wright and makes as many mistakes. He would be...
  18. Brumby Runner

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

I agree but that's par for the course with new combinations, isn't it? I have hope that this backline will put the ABs under considerable pressure and tries will come, but really there would be expected to be very little in the way of cohesion with Tate and Carter playing together at this level...

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

I like that forward pack but would prefer Frost to start in place of Arnold. Frost/Skelton could be our best combo for the RWC and beyond. Tom Hooper at 7 has surprised me as I thought it would be either Gleeson or Leota. I wish Eddie had had the courage/foresight or whatever to start Gordon...
