    RWC: Pool C - Wallabies v Georgia, SdF Sunday 10th September 2am

But still with a bonus point as the margin will be three unconverted tries.;)

Now, where have I heard that before?

    Rugby World Cup 2023

But what are the ongoing effects of teams like the Wallabies, Argentina or England finishing 3rd and 4th (or higher) while clearly better teams like NZ, SA, Ireland, France or Scotland finish in the 5 - 8 rankings?

    Rugby World Cup 2023

More than that Dan. Two of NZ, SA, Ireland and France will drop out in the Quarters.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Envy is not a healthy emotion. Potentially leads to the 'tall poppy syndrome' where some would rather destroy the offending entity than respect them and try to copy what they do. Glad that the envy such as it is, so far seems to be confined to the fans of other teams and not so much the...

    Brumbies 2024

Ben Mowen to be officially announced as Assistant Coach, replacing Laurie Fisher today, presumably as defence coach. John Ulugia also to be announced as scrum coach replacing Dan Palmer. According to the Canberra Times today, Rod Seib is continuing as attack coach.

    RWC2023 Tipping Competition

Here's a tip. One semi final will be fought out by two teams from Pools C and D. The top four will therefore comprise 2 teams from A and B and two teams from C and D.

    Barbarian F.C. v Northampton Saints, 2/9/23

Was good to see HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) back on the ground, and performing well at scrum time and again proving almost unstoppable 1m from the tryline.

Is he naturally a left footer? That clearing kick went the whole of 10 - 15 metres, but maybe he normally kicks with his right foot for the Reds?

    Barbarian F.C. v Northampton Saints, 2/9/23

Harry played the second half in the 6 spot, which I've always thought best suited him. He did not stand out at all, but the team at that stage was made up of quite a few Japanese and other players and lacked almost all semblance of cohesion. Half time score, 29 - 0; full time score 48 - 12...

    Barbarian F.C. v Northampton Saints, 2/9/23

Uru was impressive at 7. His defence was strong which has sometimes been a weaker point to his game imo, and he was very effective in the lineout and often broke the line on attack. I wouldn't be at all concerned if he was called into the 7 spot for the Wallabies, or indeed for any of the back...

    France v Wallabies (RWC Warm-up), 28/8 1.45AM AEST

smi you have mentioned a few times that you think Rob Valetini should play 6 rather than 8. Have to say I disagree. Most of Valetini's best work in both attack and defence is in the middle of the park. That's where he effectively hits the ball up in attack, and where he hits hard in defence. I...

He's my idea of a very good option for the Wallaby No 7 spot.

Hmm... Tom Wright born July 1997, Andrew Kellaway born October 1995.

    Wallabies 2023

His first kick wasn't particularly horrible, went almost 40m, but the French scored directly from it. More to do with poor team defence, but the kick should have found touch.
