Absolutely agree - doesn't make the decisions any easier though I wonder what happens to Vunivalu if we get a couple of wingers...

    Queensland Reds 2025

Going to be some very, very tough calls made on existing squad members - especially as we're already pretty depthy in the positions of those players mentioned

    Queensland Reds 2025

Nela’s got another year on his RA contract, so we can assume he’s staying in Aus for one more season? Whether we’d want him back is another question, however… on one hand, we know he can be on of the most dominant players on the pitch; on the other, he’d be expensive and has been pretty...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Well... if it wasn't for RA stepping in, they wouldn't have played this year?

This would surely have to be the first time a Canberran has been in any type of bath!

Depending on who the replacement is, it might even be more of a draw for some - e.g. a Pacific BaaBaas team

Except that, by definition, they do - as they do every other state and territory without a Super team.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I wouldn't expect that sort of statement, among the other elements mentioned in the release, is something RA would pull out of their arse - no doubt it's all in the 100-page proposal (which hasn't been made publicly available). If this plays out in court, we may get to see whether it's RA or...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I understand your point, but by being that specific RA may have: a) limited the potential for larger proposals b) invited proposals which met the outlined criteria, but fell down in other areas As @Ignoto said, RA took the most risk-averse approach they could - it would've been unwise to play...

TL;DR - deemed to be all sizzle, no steak. Not surprising to say the least. Having anonymous members of the consortium is also a bit of a red flag...

Does your daydream include Waugh calling him Trevor Leota again?

Rebels have a non-zero chance to do the funniest thing ever and win the whole damn thing

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

If they'd left it til after finals you'd have people (rightfully) upset that the Rebels didn't get a 'proper' last match. I'd imagine many of the players may feel similarly.

    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

Light defence? Are we thinking of the same Josh Flook?

It paints a picture, but percentages are really only part of the story - as mentioned, they're incredibly influenced by the difficulty of the kick. For instance, Reds have scored a hell of a lot of tries out wide this season, so I'm not surprised Lynagh's stats are down.
