Great idea as it takes a lot of the conjecture out of it - should be mandatory imo. Obviously the line's positioning is impacted by sizes and proportions of the jerseys and bodies wearing them, so it could leave some room for clubs/players try to game the system a bit.

Pretty sure RA has no say in the scheduling. Sub-optimal scheduling is just an unfortunate reality for a venue like AAMI Park which hosts three football codes (plus other events) in the same window.

Wasn't there a big emphasis on O'Connor's transition towards a coaching role when he most recently re-signed? His time on the sidelines probably sped this up a bit. As you say, could certainly do a lot worse.
