    Shute Shield 2016

On the improve with hopes to contribute funds back to a foundation this season onwards. The last of the creditors are being sorted out now.

    Shute Shield 2016

If the clubs band together to not support the NRC and to instead support a different representative format with the players they provide I am sure it would not be too hard to find a broadcaster and sponsorship. Pretty simple really. Don't see what is so mind blowing.

    Shute Shield 2016

I agree with you players aspiring to be professional want to play theres nothing stopping the Shute Shield starting another representative competition though.

    Shute Shield 2016

Answer this - Each NSW NRC club refuses to enter a team this season. Each club winds the business up as pretty much all are in debt. What do the ARU do, probably in breach of the contract with Foxsports etc etc. Some of the comments you are making with little idea make me wish that this...

    Shute Shield 2016

Had enough appeal to attract pretty much most professional players in Australia before the NRC and the Super Rugby clubs deliberately blocking the players from playing in a competition they wanted to play in.

    Shute Shield 2016

And how do you suggest the Rams got that private consortium & the other additional support offered by the clubs at zero price. Stars without Sydney Uni would have folded in a day financially. NSW Country would have folded as well without the financial support offered by Randwick & Easts. This...

    Shute Shield 2016

I do as the majority come from NSW anyway which feeds in to the Sydney competition. A lot of players also make the move to play in the stronger competition. They still do without the funding. The Rebels, Force & Brumbies are absolutely pretty much wasting there time looking at the club...

    Shute Shield 2016

Sorry who are the Sydney sides funded by?

    Shute Shield 2016

I am glad you have the effort Dave Beat and wilsonmate cause I don't. Let's just try run Australian Rugby without the Shute Shield clubs. Has it ever been inconceivable that some players are perhaps not good enough to make Super Rugby and that it has nothing to do with the pathway they came...

    Shute Shield 2016

Players from Sydney will ultimately have the decision made thats best for the Sydney clubs. I don't think it's fanciful at all for the Sydney Rugby Union to run it's own representative structure that could garner enough interest for a network to broadcast it. Rams, Stars, Rays & Country...

    Shute Shield 2016

No matter how much you like it being from interstate if the Sydney clubs don't support it the ARU are going to be in a whole world of trouble. The stalemate will only last so long until the ARU has to eventually come to the party for the clubs that supported them (the Sydney clubs). I would...

    Sydney Colts - 2016

I actually agree with Sydney Uni here. What is the point of capping NRC and U20's as indicated above all clubs have got the aim of producing rep players. These players actually aren't that good in the club system the players that really should dominate and help clubs attract players are the...

    Shute Shield 2016

All this conversation regarding Shute Shield and developing players I would like to see how the ARU go without the Shute Shield supplying players to the NRC. Then we may realise how important the NRC is and how important the clubs are that financed it for them.

    Shute Shield 2016

Some reasonably well known players turning up at Parra. Could be looking at some serious improvement if the coaches can get them moving forward in right direction.
