Each NSW NRC club refuses to enter a team this season. Each club winds the business up as pretty much all are in debt.

What do the ARU do, probably in breach of the contract with Foxsports etc etc.

Some of the comments you are making with little idea make me wish that this would just happen.

Rising & Spirit where funded straight off the back of ARU keeping Force & Rebels ticking along. That is nothing against the decision to do that, or the teams I referenced, I am saying that as it contradicts a number of areas that are being missed with regards to the growth of rugby.

Most recently the ARU has contributed funds / sponsorship to the JGC and to all those players stay in rugby for the season?

Guys, any chance in shifting this topic to the ARU / Australian Rugby thread, SS is to good for this rant;).

But Dave, what additional costs did the Spirit and Rising incur? They used Super Rugby employees/structures, etc.

Considering you and Aussie D are the only people capable of mounting a coherent argument without resorting to blatant lies and name calling, I think we can just end it. We know where we all stand.

Yeah, except they couldn't afford ice, or lollies, and volunteers from the clubs had to support the franchises for the good of their players, but yeah, your absolutely right, really well funded #facepalm

Do all your arguments only use one example and ignore all the others which is the point we are all making on purpose? How dumb do you think we are? Oh so Randwick are sweet so oh course all the other franchises must be fine!

Beyond a joke now TWAS

It needs to keep going so clubs like ours get reimbursed.
Although pain, and frustration, there is also some good point with the NRC as well. I wish it didn't impact the SS though.

Applause for the excellent PR spin at the end, bravo Mr Pulver

Probably offer Warren Livingstone a place knowing that there will be no competition for aspiring players, the Eagles would stay on that basis and possibly look at forcing the Waratahs/NSWRU to run a similar structure to QLD using their existing resources on the basis they provide considerable funding to them for Super Rugby and the state union.

Not just reimbursed. Hopefully receive benefit if the competition takes off.

Randwick and SU are the only clubs with current financial reports available. I have told you this already when you insulted me for only referring to them.

TWAS - others are all making good fair points though;

Lets not use rugby as an example.
  • Starting a business from scratch involves, money, time, risk.
  • Getting carried by a business that is externally funded carries non of this.
Then to have the latter source materials etc from the heart of the business just starting out is not successful business practice.
Then to have the governing body of these business, who started a this new market - well I don't know how to best explain that one so I'm not going to..............

Please tell me what is so inherently special about the NRC then? It bleeds money, players don't want to be there and as far as development goes, Matt Sandell.hello????

What players don't want to play in the NRC?

There are some seriously bathshit claims being thrown around in this thread towards the NRC.........

Seen both,
Both work hard on gate.
Both work hard on sponsorship.
Both spat out a similar answer.
Both work hard on bettering rugby.
Both have cash at bank.

Dave, not implying anything untoward at all. Just responding to wilsonmate's claim I was an idiot (or similar) for not looking at everybody's statements.

I preferred his Pelican.
I also appreciate and support a number of his posts.

People with views like his will only strengthen anti-shute shield sentiment.

Trying to bully and bluff his way through making inaccurate claims (such as the ARU salaries being $30M annually, that the ARU never subsidized the Shute Shield Broadcast and that it does subsidize the NRC broadcast) and lack of transparency (the old view of "oh you wouldn't know/understand" when discussing matters that are kept from public availability) is one of the biggest things anybody against them can latch onto.

Yes and No - it a case of picking points, working with them, and improving. People making points allows for improvement, correction, and also growth - if Pappy didn't raise it would any of this got any airtime. It has, and it has provoked thought and contribution which is great.

TWAS your posts do frustrate me as they vary rarely provide thoughts on improvement, rather than they provided excuses and defence for status quo.
