I tend to agree. For a guy who has been talked up as a union/ league prodigy for the last five years, and is an outside back at that, he’s one of the least threatening ball runners I’ve seen. There‘s no footwork or agility and he doesn’t seem super skilled.

    Wallabies 2024

    He’d solve all our problems.

    Wallabies 2024

I think it’s optimistic for a player in the worst team in Super Rugby and with no prior Wallabies form to get picked. This is aside from the fact he’s big average.

Marce I love your sharp rugby mind and passion but please understand this- the vast majority of his contract is not getting paid by Rugby Australia (they would not pay that much for him). They are essentially leveraging free money for something with potential huge benefit. They cannot dictate...

Western Force v Fijian Drua Saturday 11 May, 7:55pm WST

This is a loaded question - is Bayely Kuenzle the new Reece Hodge?

    Round 12: Waratahs v Brumbies Sat 11th 7.35PM @ ALLIANZ STADIUM

Also Pone helped- he’s too good not to be playing regular Super Rugby.

    Round 12: Waratahs v Brumbies Sat 11th 7.35PM @ ALLIANZ STADIUM

So the Brumby forward back was dominant although I thought Swinton and Holloway had a good showing in the back row. Joey Walton had a strong game and (Brumby Runner will hate this) Jake Gordon outshone Lonergan.

    Wallabies 2024

Gordon‘s understated play last night against the Reds was more impressive than anything I’ve seen from Donaldson. I think you’re right with the top 3 but I wouldn’t call Donaldson the favorite.

    Wallabies 2024

I dont understand how the fly half from the team that’s running third last can be the favorite to start? He's hardly standing out in any metric beyond place kicking.

    Wallabies 2024

    He’s probably not.

    Waratahs 2024

Man it’s Rebels- I’m not sure they’d be much better.

    Waratahs 2024

Not comparable Marce- Carter Gordon has looked better in Super than Harrison ever has.
  13. eastman

    Waratahs 2024

i think we tend to overrate Harrison. He was the fly half during Rob Penney’s terror years and wasn’t that great pre injuries. He’s probably not the mercurial talent some think he is.

    Waratahs 2024

As long as we get Carter Gordon then it’s absolutely no issue.

    Waratahs 2025

In what way is our squad stronger than the Blues/ Canes/ Chiefs/ Brumbies/ Reds? I reckon mid table is about our ceiling.

    Waratahs 2024

I completely forgot about Kellaway- yep Wilson and Moses are surplus to requirements.

    CAS Rugby 2024

If that’s accurate it’s not going to be a good year for Cranbrook.

    Waratahs 2024

They’re depth players but don’t want to get paid depth Super Rugby wages.
  19. eastman

    Waratahs 2024

He had some opportunities and didn’t set the world on fire. He never was 100% dominant at Shute Shield either.

2024 Under 20 Rugby Champs all match discussion thread

In reality it’s not locks, but it’s robust 6 and 8s who are playing league (ie David Fifita). There’s definitely a polynesian contingent we are now missing out on.
