I hope the new scoring system doesn't carry across. Obviously a discussion for a different thread but I believe 3 points is too much for a conversion, especially in the lower grades where finding decent kickers can be a challenge.

It seems there is some interest in this type of 'independent' 7s team and sounds like the opportunity to go on international tours would be very enticing. Makes me wonder why there aren't more club based 7s teams doing the same thing, I think only UQ and Sunnybank regularly enter competitions...

Not much to report down at Yoku except it looks like GPS will be going back to BLK after a couple of years using Fi-Ta for kit. Haven't seen the new jersey (doubt it will be very different) but images of the new supporters kit was emailed around today. I'd be interested to know whether Souths...

    Ireland v Australia

Tomane is definitely a talent but I'm not quite sure whether his ceiling is as high as some people want to believe. He may only be 24 but don't forget he's been playing professional rugby (of some sort) for quite a while now and has been largely inconsistent. This may be why he couldn't keep...

    Reds 2015

NRC was played much looser and more emphasis on attack - especially in the early weeks in which JJT was a standout. He was able to carve up the lazy defensive lines and broken play. I can't argue that he was brilliant at that level and is obviously a talented player. I still have doubts on...

Everyone finally starting to see the light! As long as Hunt's defense is up to scratch then playing him at 12 seems like the right option to me. Of course there is also the consideration that RG might be very keen on Samu at 12 considering he stayed there for the entire NRC.

    AIC Rugby 2015

May be that my mail was wrong. I thought they decided safety reasons in regards to age groups didn't really become a factor until the later teenage years and therefore would stick with the year groups until yr 10 and then make the transition.

Are there no exceptions for minnow nation players to get contracts outside the marquee status? For example I thought I read somewhere there were exceptions for Japanese players. Maybe its a big Georgian prop, aren't there a few of those blokes floating around the Top 14?

Im on the same page here and for the life of me can't think who they'd be getting? My guess is some 'no-name' Northern hemisphere prop whos hard as nails. I don't mean no-name as degrading either, more that no one will know who the hell he is until he obliterates scrum after scrum like a...

    France v Australia

Agreed. At this level there is so much pre-gaming planning going on with opposition lineout footage, tactics etc that players should at least have some idea of where weaknesses are and where they should be jumping. For that reason it amazes me that the Wallabies seem to be still figuring stuff...

    Reds 2015

My biggest question is whether the forward pack will click in 2015 or whether it may take a bit longer. The Thomson signing ties everything together well but there will still need to be consistent performances from the big guns in Slipper, Kev, Simmons, Gill and Saia. Brisbane City's...

    AIC Rugby 2015

All sports in AIC are moving to a year group format for 2015 e.g. Year 8 A's cricket, Year 9 A's volleyball etc etc. The exception to this will be rugby. From what I understand rugby will be played in year groups up to and including Yr10 (Yr10 A's rugby etc) and then Yrs 11 and 12 will be...

Magnay's impact was also prevalent in his games for GPS Premier Colts. I realize its just Colts footy but he was definitely noticeable with every touch and the team really missed him when he was injured for a couple of weeks. I daresay he was as dominant as Kerevi was during his years at that...

Not sure if it was mentioned in this thread or one of the Wallabies ones but geez I reckon Genia looks undernourished! Had a flick through some of the Wallabies instagram uploads from Europe and he looks about 5-10kg lighter than he did in previous years. Not sure whether thats good or bad...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

That season start time isn't as bad as some people feared. Its only 2 weeks earlier than the 2014 season. I was hearing rumors of mid-Feb, that would have been horrible weather to play in!

Any word on why Nathan gave up playing? He was a good player for GPS the last few years and hopefully he succeeds in coaching. A bit risky though throwing a young bloke straight out of playing and into coaching that level ofrugby.

If thats the u17s team I'm thinking of then you coached some good players. I believe Jake Shatz was also in that team? I must have got Feao mixed up with someone else then because I could have sworn he played in the backrow.

Yeh he has really come a long way in the last few years and as you say hes only 24. From memory he actually played as a blindside flanker (and occasional hooker) in HS and then made the proper transition to front row during his Colt days.

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

There were two other GPS front rowers selected for the NRC - Fred Burke and Ryan Freney. Assuming they both stay at Yoku it means there should be sufficient cover. A lot of people thought the Gallopers would falter in the forwards when JP and Ruan Smith moved to Canberra as well but since then...

    Reds 2015

Come down to Yoku rd and see for yourself, looks to have a much higher ceiling than Sautia, skill wise. I'd say he was the most dominant Colts player (in the comp, when he wasn't injured) last year and more than held his own in the NRC. Still find it odd for the Reds though, he definitely isn't...
