How Ant Fainga'a fits into the new look Reds backline will be very interesting. Despite having a plethora of attacking options I don't think a game plan consisting of 'lets just score more points than the opposition' is going to win a S15 title. The Reds will also need to hold teams out and...

I wonder whether the front rowers spend their time cutting or bulking pre weigh in?? Being nice and heavy is always intimidating but no one likes to be the fattest man on a team!

I don't think any of our wingers would ever be picked in a side due to their defensive stability (I'm not including JOC (James O'Connor) and CFS in that statement as I see them better utilized in other positions) so it will really come down to how their offensive skills gel with the team IMO.

Not at all Scrubber, it just upsets my reading to scrolling ratio!! Anyway, back to rugby!

Sorry to sound anal guys but if you're replying to someone whos written a long block of text, can you please try to include only the parts you deem relevant? A bit annoying scrolling through half a page of repeated text from replies. My time is precious!!

I agree with your point re: Frisby over Genia USARugger. If the Reds want to be a forward thinking franchise they'd have to realise that Genia a) isn't playing like he used to and b) is one of the players more likely to go OS after the RWC. They need to start putting Frisby into the big games...

St Columban's isnt a school name I've seen pop up for a while. They had a couple years of decent rugby players if I remember? Most of them went to Brothers to play.

Purely my own opinion but I would say Arnold chose to leave GPS on his own and rather than put up a fight, the committee probably saw this as a good opportunity to start fresh with a neutral coach, hence why no one from inside the club (namely Fogarty) got appointed. The club has definitely...

Don't really have much more insight into Shane's movements unfortunately. By all accounts his 'exit speech' at the GPS end of year dinner never mentioned moving onto another QLD Premier Club, while on the flip side it was common knowledge that Buzz was leaving to Souths. I'd be very surprised...

I don't have a problem with Thor going to Brothers. Mathison (Prems) and McCormack (Prem Colts) are both quality forwards coaches and will really help his development. I'm tipping Tupou will start at least the first couple of games in Prem Colts.

So Talakai has been linked to three clubs? Maybe he's just messing with everyone and is actually re-igniting the Sunny Coast Stingrays!

GPSMick, you have to remember, there were half a dozen blokes who joined the club over the last 3 years to follow Picone. Doesn't surprise me now that some are leaving as their ties to the club probably aren't very strong. I say, thanks for everything they've done, good luck in the future but...

I believe Kerevi and Magnay have committed to GPS, haven't seen with my own eyes but heard from reliable sources. The others though I wouldn't be surprised if they went to Souths. Anyone from Souths know who they've been able to secure? Any word whether Shane Arnold is helping Picone out? From...

GPS forwards are the area of worry, some good recruitment is probably needed with Kite and Nicol moving on. Guys like Freney, Gorman and Kotze will be better after their NRC involvements but with veterans Ferguson, Donaldson and King apparently retiring the depth will be tested. The forwards...

TD I highly doubt you'll see that backline together much in 2015 with majority of players away with u20's and the Reds. Also I heard Grasso may have gone to Souths.

I'm predicting a lean year down at Yoku. A new coach, players leaving due to rep duties and retirement and possibly a few more filtering to Souths and Norths may leave GPS in need of some rebuilding. Not necessarily a bad thing but I wouldn't be surprised if results aren't as strong as previous...

I like Kotze's signing from a leadership perspective as it gives all the young guys in the EDS someone with a level head to look up to, he was great down at GPS. Skill wise, he's handy for a 3rd-4th string lock but with his age I wouldn't be surprised if this is a one and done type deal before...

Thanks for posting those videos TOCC - both were good to watch I was a bit critical about Tupou's body composition (thought he was very fat!) but he actually looks to have a pretty solid build for a prop in that video. No doubt being under the coaches eye will help keep his diet strict!

I'm happy to label KHunt as a safe bet who will improve the team. You'd think he'll be good enough to cement a spot in the Reds best 15 each week and anything on top of that is just a bonus.
