Wallabies v England in Melbourne, 18 June

F**k. So rather than losing the breakdown, we appear to have monstered them. Those are the stats of a 30-point victory.

I think there are plenty of qualified Austrian candidates before considering Wilkinson and Benton or any other England candidates. The best solution to losing to a nation is to beat them next game, not plot to poach their trainers. And our fitness is fine.

I'm also wondering whether we really lost at the breakdown. Does anyone have the possession stats? We seemed to have the ball for an awful lot of time (and have an awful lot of fast ball in attack) for a team being consistently beaten there. Especially considering the 15-8 penalty count...

Wallabies v England in Melbourne, 18 June

The Wallabies lost because they played excruciatingly badly at crucial moments. There was plenty of excellent play, both in attack and defence, but as Simon says, most of their tries were against the consistent run of play. That's not an excuse: it's a criticism. Rearranging the team won't...

Wallabies v England, Sat 11th June, 8.00pm, Suncorp Brisbane

These calls to drop Hooper, our best performing player, because he can't play seven, so that we can make room for McCalman, for his impact, all in the name of backrow balance, are unbalanced. Is this suddenly the G&GR front page?

Carter has worked diligently on that aspect if his play and now gives away more than his fair share of line out penalties.

How is Cheika's game plan more vulnerable to a rush defence than any other team's? Apart from those that kick deep out of the pocket, of course. A rush defence is a high-risk strategy against teams that play with the ball in hand. If you miss then they score, as happened once yesterday. If you...

The reason Fardy and Hooper stand so wide is for the the next ruck, to widen the umbrella covered by our loosies. Rushing in to join the current ruck would defeat that purpose.

Seriously? A 'crazy amount of hospital passes'?? We must have been watching different games. What minutes were these in?

Kerevi was disappointing. Didn't get many opportunties. Didn't back himeself enough when he did. His potetial nonetheless remains. Perpahs as a finisher next week?

Seriously? This squad oozes potential. We have two front rows that are as good as any front row we had in the past. Pocock and Hooper are both in all those players' class. Fardy is as good as Giffin. Foley has incredible potential and is starting to realise it. Kuridrani has hovered around being...

It was a Class A mutual clusterfcuk. :-(

This is your day, galumay. It could be your year. I hope you're wrong.

The All Blacks would never have played for the draw. Not once in a century of games.

Sure. Sport is a competitive activity where the dominant competitor wins more games over time, thus evening out the chance element in individual games.

Nooo... we play for the win. There's no guarantee a kick to the corner would've resulted in a try.

Ouch. Congratulations to the poms. This is going to sound like sour grapes but it isn't. We were better team for most of the game. But we also made by far the most mistakes. Brilliancies win mactches but mistakes lose them. Far too many mistakes. Nonetheless, kudo to the enemy!
