I think coach Pat Richards may need to get on the same page as Wayne Bennett if his "performance" at the end of the game on Saturday is any example of attitude to referees. It is OK to be bewildered by some decisions and to query interpretations so that those mistakes aren't made the next...

Agree that some of Souths play was not great but how can you be expected to rise to great heights when the game is interrupted every few seconds by the referee's whistle. I would love to know what the penalty count was against Souths but I am sure that it would rank along with the count...

Souths beat Easts 49-7 at Easts yesterday.

Would also be interested to know if there will be any repercussions over coach Richards' on-field outburst towards referee Simon Moore after the fulltime whistle yesterday. Not sure what was said. Maybe he was just saying "well refereed" but it certainly wasn't a good look.

It's very quiet on here from the Tiger's den. How about some thoughts on the game TT.

TrainerGB - excellent summary of the game. Totally agree with all you have said here.

I agree TT but Norths did comeback strongly in the second half and in fact won the half by 17-7

I must also point out to TT that Souths put eight tries on Norths on the weekend without Andy Muirhead, who was unavailable.

TT I agree that the Magpies have had Easts measure over the last few games and I hope that that will continue on Saturday. I must point out however that Kalavata has never played Premier Grade for Souths and only a couple of Reggies games as well. He has been a consistent 2nd Grade and 3rd...

I was out of Brisbane last weekend, so I missed the Souths v Wests trial game. Anyone got a short report on the match?

Also great to see another Souths prop getting an opportunity with Tevita (Davey) Feao being selected for Tonga A which will be playing a series of matches around the country.

That's right. Albert has been released from Bay of Plenty and has returned to The Nest where he played all of his Junior rugby. Not sure how much we will see of him at Chipsy Wood and in the black and white but it is great to see him back.

I have to say that the usually very busy correspondents from Tigerland are very silent after yesterday's rousing victory by Souths Magpies in their Heritage Round against Easts. Easts started almost perfectly, scoring a try in the opening minute, followed soon after with a penalty. Souths had...

I am afraid Jets that Uni played Souths last weekend and this weekend it is Souths v Sunnybank. It's Ladies Day at the Nest and I don't think that we have a Jumping Castle planned for the Ladies.

FilthRugby - I wonder if you would be so passionate about not having the Reds and Wallabies back for finals if Brothers had more current Reds?

Stallion re the Wests v Souths game last week. The Souths scrum at training this week were saying the exact same thing about the consistency or lack of consistency in the call for setting the scrums. The ref was Matt O'Brien, a very experienced ref., but maybe he has been refereeing a lot of...

Souths had a very successful day against Easts across the Club yesterday when they had only their second trial game for most grades and the first for a couple of the lower grades. The Premier grade came away with a 17-5 (three tries to one) victory in humid conditions and they showed some much...

Souths were beaten by Easts, in their trial, by one try after fulltime (five tries to four) and then put 57 points on Wests in their second trial match. At $26 there might be a few Magpie dollars going down.

"Souths made a big call canceling the games today as the wet weather would have aided them and Sunnybank will have their stars back in July." With Souths limited to one field because of the misguided opposition of local residents and a very expensive court case, it was a prudent decision to...

Watched the Souths v Easts trial at Bottomley this afternoon and I think that some who have written off Souths Magpies this year may be having a rethink. Easts ran out winners 33-24 in extra time but Souths with an almost completely new Premier Grade scored 4 tries against the Tigers full of...
