    And yet. Here we are.

    Waratahs 2023

And seeing as he's leaving the club perhaps they see more value in playing guys who will still be at the club next season. I know that if I were a coach and I found out a player of mine were leaving the club for another I'd begin to reduce their game time in favour of providing an opportunity...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Exactly. We can get a home and away domestic competition while adding 4-5 extra Cup games for a pretty solid season. I'm all for it. It would provide more domestic based Rugby for fans and more playing opportunities for players. Something that has been sorely lacking in years gone by. May...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Frankly this has more relevance in a Rugby forum. But just not in this discussion.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

People seem to be making a lot of this. Beyond the likelihood this is more about squeezing more $ out of NZ Rugby not utilizing Super Rugby TT as our primary driver wouldn't necessarily the end of the interaction at this level between the two. Japan has made it clear that they are keen on cross border...

    RWC 2023 Qualifying & Miscellany

Apparently a few recent Irish and Scottish international spent extended periods outside of both respective countries within their qualification periods. Or so Spain will be arguing. If true then I will be interesting to see what comes of it. I'll be honest here.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Spain are appealing their disqualification citing both Ireland and Scotland in their argument. Will be interesting to see what comes from it as their appears to be some inconsistencies from WR (World Rugby).

    Waratahs 2023

Do we really need to go back the Moore Park next season? Watching the game last night it was great seeing what looked like a near capacity crowd at Leichardt. Makes for far better optics.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Because Chile has a Pacific coast line.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

I like this and when the World League fails to come to fruition (even I though I'm a supporter of the concept) I hope we see it expanded to include the Maori, the USA, Canada and Chile. I also hope that we see a touring squad headed to Europe in November to play the REC nations.

Australian Bid for 2027 World Cup

The station is still there. Trains for events still run as they have always done. There's no pubs in the immediate vicinity so according to some that makes it tough to get to. It's actually quite accessible.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

No, there's no conflict. MLR is sanctioned b y USARugby. But there's no crossover in terms of its operation or direction. Which is a positive as USARugby has been a bit of basket case for a while.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

In the case of the Giltinis there is. Owned by a billionaire. Similar for New England. A licence will set you back $10m with enough capital to run for three seasons at an annual cost of $3-5m a season.

Australian Bid for 2027 World Cup

It's been a long time since Homebush could be described as being in the West of the City. Christ. Parramatta isn't even all that far west these days.

    Eastwood's Next Wallaby

Still needs to work on his defensive reads. Gets caught out making the wrong decision and having to scramble too often still. No overly obvious on TV but live at the ground.

    Proposed Nations Championship

Yep. In a perfect world each nation involved in both divisions would see an equal share of the total revenue (TV and advertising) but I'd be shocked and delighted but mostly shocked if that were the outcome unless the $ on offer are huge. The best I think we could hope for is a 2 to 1 split. So...

    Proposed Nations Championship

Agreed. What I find interesting is that the Unions that would fall into the Challenger Series are according to the article already on board. So the question has to be. Why? Is there guaranteed income attached?
  18. WorkingClassRugger

    Proposed Nations Championship

In the original article it's mentioned it could see revenues increase by 40% with the prospect of that being higher. If so, then a compromise could be an appearance fee paid to nations that are the away team. Unless the increase in revenue is significant enough to be able to divvy it up equally.

    Proposed Nations Championship

There's actually a few options for finals and P/R. One involves the top 2 from the two pools (however they are determined) playing in the a finals series. There's apparently interest in a 'Finals Day/Weekend' which would feature 6 games with rankings on the line. And for P/R the favourite...

    Proposed Nations Championship

Bottom ranked team competes in a relegation playoff against the winner of the Challenger Series. Which is probably why they aren't integrating the 6Ns into the overall structure.
