2012 Australia vs New Zealand - 20 Oct

Fancy that, someone on a rugby forum makes an observation about a ref. If that's all it takes to amaze you, you are in for an interesting life. I agree that Joubert's style favours the ABs AND that he's in the top 3 refs going around. Amazing!!!

    Rumour: Deans could be gone

And drink it before the kickoff to numb the pain.

Quade telling it how it is

Kevin Pieterson (sp?) is in a similar position, I would say. I haven't really followed it, but it would appear that a period of truth and reconcilliation is required for the QC (Quade Cooper) situation to be resolved.

    Dictatorial vs Inclusive coaching

I agree wholeheartedly with you RH, but to be honest, I'm so far beyond being over Deans that I'm more interested in Matt Gagger's opinion.

    Dictatorial vs Inclusive coaching

Maybe I'm being naive, but I reckon the combined talents of any backline, plus some video, is enough to figure out a game plan. I'm not saying players can't be taught things, or have interesting stuff brought to their attention, I just reckon that the game plan needs to written in collaboration...

Jets - of course you must be right. How could the flyhalf not have input in the backline? (Maybe "If they are the Wallabies" is the correct answer). Gags, Cooper illustrates the fact that there's a difference between rugby smarts and intellectual smarts. Let's say that I think Cooper has rugby...

2012 Australia vs New Zealand - 20 Oct

I rarely do this because all it achieves is to create an opportunity to look like a goose, but I want to have a go at predicting the score. If we can hold our end up early (and we might, because of Harris's goal kicking) then we could keep it respectable. But if the ABs come out firing (and I...

    Dictatorial vs Inclusive coaching

Really? So, you've got a backline of, say, 10 Cooper 12 McCabe 13 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 11 Mitchell 14 Ioane 15 Beale. Whose opinion do you disregard? I reckon everyone should have a say, and formulate the backs strategy together, with the coach being the guy who pulls the vision all together. I've never played...

Bryce Lawrence - JO'N forced my retirement

I'm not crying for Bryce when it's Mark who got raped.

Maybe we should ask - who would you play in the centres if 2 backs go down? Higgers or Palu?

Bryce Lawrence - JO'N forced my retirement

Apart from demonstrating why he shouldn't have been anywhere near the RWC, Bryce's statements indicate the problem of non-neutral referees. It's as we suspected - they feel under much more pressure because of it.

I'm starting to believe that these blokes are self-harming. It's the only rational explanation.

Evolution at Green and Gold Rugby - PLEASE READ

This new rule just had an effect on me. True story. I found this page by Al Baxter, titled "5 things we learnt (about the Wallabies)." I had an impulse to start a sarcastic thread called something like: "1 thing we learnt about Al Baxter." Then the new rules kicked in and I thought -...

    Dictatorial vs Inclusive coaching

The debate here seems to be between a "solo head coach" and a head coach who listens to his/her assistants. But I reckon you really want to listen to the players. You've got to ask the guys in the game what's going on. At the very least, you establish a game plan in collaboration with the...

Spin it wide from touchline to touchline without going forward?

Because he accused G&GR of being pompous and arrogant in a pompous and arrogant way. Try reading every word of that post. It doesn't make any points worth responding to. My opinion.

This is probably not a bad moment to reflect on Ben A. Any front rowers out there care to share? It looks to me that his side of the scrum is getting pushed back at will. I'm guessing that he's copped more penalties than any other player in the Wallabies.

Evolution at Green and Gold Rugby - PLEASE READ

When I used to run the forum, I used to take away poster's rights to start a thread quite regularly. A poor title and opening post is a one-way ticket to crap posting. I guess that's why the mods are focusing on that aspect. I think James B has a point that turning up this method could be used...
