    Where to for Super Rugby?

    Yes

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Exact make-up would be determined by people closer to it. :)

    Where to for Super Rugby?

If you really want brand recognition and tribalism in your competition then the national domestic competition would look something like below. But like all possible permutations it brings with it positives and negatives. It depends what positives RA sees in any model and how they balance...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

But barely known in the wider rugby community.

    Australian Rugby / RA

He's almost 80. I think you can rest easy.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I wouldn't actually be branding anything as the Rays.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'd actually argue that NSW and Qld have devalued their brand by participating in Super Rugby over the past 25 years. State selection in any sport is an honour over and above a week to week club type competition. I'm not sure that the Vikings are as invisible as you suggest. Given time in a proper...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'm not in favour of multiple tiers, I just don't think state teams should be playing in week to week competitions. I think you'll find that the suggestion that you are opposing wasn't mine, but somebody else's. NH Rays are long gone and have never formed part of any suggestion that I have...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Which is probably what they always should be - representative teams playing limited time. There's only 3 of them so a full season isn't really very "full" at all.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Perhaps they're all adopting the Queensland RL definitions of 'origin':) At least this song is good for a laugh in these troubled times

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Added to which it was tacked onto the end of the season like an unwanted relative. The NRC commenced when the NRL and AFL finals were starting, so the media oxygen was all taken. And of course, every 4th year it is played at the same time as RWC so even becomes invisible to 95% of rusted on...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Greed, hubris and incompetence on a grand scale

Mosman resident and does he fit the final piece of the puzzle - Shore old boy?;)

    World Rugby Chairman

    Ah yes, dear old Brett.
  15. Quick Hands

    Australian Rugby / RA

What it shows is that the NSWRU and its chairman will put their own self-interest first. Special Meetings and changes to board structures aren't in the interest of those who currently monopolise the levers of power. There's a mutually beneficial and quite cosy arrangement between the RA board...
  16. Quick Hands

    World Rugby Chairman

Well he's certainly an opportunist, so if an opportunity arises for self-advancement I'm sure he'll be there.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Yes, less content would mean less money. But Trans-Tasman without South Africa would also mean less content and less money for the kiwis. And SA have a broadcast deal in place, as do NZ, so economically the two of them could probably make money together than NZ could with RA.

    World Rugby Chairman

Well, he wasn't in it for the long haul was he? Maybe he can go back to running Twiggy's South American operations.;)
  19. Quick Hands

    World Rugby Chairman

This is the guy who the southern hemisphere should have put up for Chairman of WR (World Rugby). He'd also be the guy who you'd want as CEO of RA - but that's probably not a role you'd wish on anybody.

    Aussie Player Exodus

Wasn't it a part of the COVID19 wages agreement that all contracted players have the option to supplement their income in either Europe/UK or Japan? I might have misunderstood, but that's my recollection of the agreement.
