And I think that another related thing which this illustrates is that three test tours by one nation with week to week tests (and possibly a couple of mid-week matches) are more appealing and generate more interest that TRC where the AB matches play in front of big crowds, with big TV audiences...

Teams playing in a week to week competition are 'clubs', whether you call them 'franchises' or not. Whatever competition emerges will be funded the same way - central contracts and funding from RA. At the moment RA finances 4 x Super Rugby clubs/franchises and 7 NRC clubs/franchises.

Or the game in general. There's no revenue coming in, no broadcast agreement, sponsors aren't paying because there are no games and there's no gate takings.

Current Super and NRC coaches will be employed at whatever professional model is adopted. It doesn't actually matter whether a team in Brisbane is called Brisbane City or Uni of Qld, the players will be centrally contracted and the funding for players, coaches and support staff will come from...
