I would have liked to see Edmed at 10 with Harrison at 15 and Reilly dropped. I don't rate Reilly at all. He has all of Pietsch's downsides with none of the up. Can complain about the tight 5 all day but if we actually finished a few of the chances we made against the Brumbies we could have...

Eh I can't really be bothered to explain why unpaid labour is not a sustainable model.

Expecting professionals to do extras is not a sustainable basis on which to build a consistently performing national side.

BH's point is that in the age of ever increasing specialisation few of those other positions will get enough ROI on kicking practice when they could be practicing more beneficial skills for their preferred role like scrumming, lineout work or defensive positioning etc.

I think of the many NZ coaches to come to our shores Penney is actually an outlier. Most of them are good to very good coaches. Certainly better than anything we can produce with no fucking professional pathways for rugby football coaches anywhere in the entire fucking country.

Does his name cut through? It's faded a lot IMO after it became apparent he's a mid-tier NRL centre and not the world beating fullback he was predicted to be.

I thought he was on a long term deal with us? Losing him would be a blow but nowhere near the blow it would have been in past years.

I'd take White and Donaldson myself. I think Donaldson is the best option but I also think he is still capable of some really dire play so not feeling super enthused by it.
