But if the clubs don't want a player and he is country "eligible" will he then be considered for the Country team e.g. Matwijo(?) for Norths may be overlooked in the Northern Rays as there is a number of backrowers who may be preferred and therefore may be picked up by Country

Aren't Randwick and Easts "associated" with the team and not full partners like the other Sydney teams

Don't know but it is a NSW Country side and if you want it to be supported in the Country the players should have some connection to the country. Maybe the Easts and Randwick players will be considered if a suitable Country Origin player cannot be found for a position

After yesterday's game between the 20's and Country I repeat my belief that Country based players would not make the side competitive.

Thanks Macca my question was in response to your post the the squad would be made up of Super players and Randwick and Easts players (irrespective of their origins). I really hope that they cast their net throughout all the clubs and look at all the country origin players playing Shute Shield

If your moving into the inner city - redfern, alexandria, etc. - the Dukes (Div 6) would welcome you with open arms - always a good game and good time at the Dukes

This is what i don't get. I thought one of the reasons of the NRC was to help develop players identified as being able to progress to the 2nd tier. In the team above there are 10 players already playing Super Rugby, some of which are more senior players now rather than up and comers. Players like Matwijo...

Why not incorproate a Club package with the NRC deal (SS and Bris premier) for FTA. This would give them regular OZ content and help create interest in the later NRC comp
