The one and only Wallaby Coach thread

I wouldn't see any of Kiss, Cron or Coleman in the mix at the moment. They all need a few years more at Super level to prove themselves. Bernie has the best record and more experience, but I don't want to see him as the whipping boy for all the disappointed Wallaby fans. Whomever is the chosen...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Since I was introduced to Super Rugby, mid-season 1996, I have always been an avid fan and proud supporter of the Brumbies and the competition itself. Even through times of quite serious illness to myself and other family members, I've gone to as many games as I could manage and have held...

Wouldn't handing over your licence to operate be reasonably considered to be a total takeover of the Super franchise? As I understand things, it is intended that the existing franchises will only retain control of the local club competitions. For interests sake, what other interests would need...

Ha, ha! Those damned Wallabies let me down again.

    U16/U19 Competition 2023

Angus Staniforth is a real star. Seems to get better with every outing. The Reds No 14 also looks a top prospect. Not much mention in any of the threads about Cullen Grey at 10 for the Brumbies. He is cool as a cucumber, has an excellent step when required, offloads in tackles and is a...

Friday's news was to the effect that RA had reassured the Brumbies they would not be taking over the IP in any centralising plans and that the Brumbies will remain in Canberra. Not sure if any period was attached to those assurances. I don't have any details of the commencement of dispute...

No Wilcox in the U19s? Injured, perhaps? Dan Nelson now linked to Royals. Perhaps an indication he is here next year?

Australian Bid for 2027 World Cup

Rob42 it would be a travesty if the world's highest profile rugby team, Randwick, didn't appear.

Theoretically Slim. There is an argument, of course, that the best players in Australia are already playing or connected with JID teams.

    U16/U19 Competition 2023

An excellent player with exceptional pace - possibly the fastest player in the competition. He certainly benefits from being on the end of a well functioning backline but also has the skills and footwork to beat defenders one on one. Just hope the Brumbies have him locked in, along with quite a...

10 - Cullen Grey, plays for Western Districts (Bernie Larkham's old club) in the JID Cup. 12 - Jakob Biet from Eastwood in the Shute Shield. 15 - Shane Wilcox, Tuggeranong Vikings in the JID Cup.

He was the guide on a tour of Stadium Australia before it was opened that I was on. He was quite good with many anecdotes to keep the interest up.

Can't say I took much notice of the individual Force players and had the sound turned off so, while he might have had a stormer, I wasn't aware. But interms of overall impact and effectiveness, the Brumbies backline attack had it over the Force.

RWC Final - New Zealand v South Africa 29/10/23, 0800 NZDT

Think Raynal might get it just to have a French rep in the final.

    U16/U19 Competition 2023

Staniforth again a stand out for the Brumbies. They look to be a very slick, well coached team with a strong pack and plenty of pace in the backline.

Like the look of Biet. A big frame and has good footwork. Generally gets through the defensive line and has the ability to offload to support.

    SF2: England v South Africa 22/10/23 @ 0800 NZDT

Similar to the Welsh ref having the Wallabies/Fiji game a week before the Wallabies were to meet Wales. Not a good look, but truth is that there was no controversy afterwards. Still, WR (World Rugby) or whoever appoints the game day officials should have more of a weather eye on how things could look.

    Wallabies 2024

"Lack of Australian presence in the finals ". Brumbies have played finals every year since 2014, except 2018. Steve Larkham coach 2014 - 2017, 2023, and Dan McKellar 2018 - 2022. Bernie hasn't yet missed making the finals. Now, there's a presence.
