Reds v Force (Brisbane) Friday 26 May 2017

It's professional sport. This is the nature of the beast. If the coaching staff thinks they have a better option than you they will sign them and they will play them over you until you prove to them otherwise. Nobody has a mortgage on any jersey. If he's so mentally weak that he can't handle...

    Reds 2017

Been rewatching Reds/Rebels in chunks over the last few nights and to be totally fair the refereeing was, objectively, questionable. The Higginbotham "obstructing a runner" was a FARCE. There's even a wide camera angle following the kick that shows him 3-4m from the nearest Rebels player...

    Reds 2017

Rebuilding isn't an excuse for making basic mistakes like our players regularly do, under pressure or not. It's a good argument if we were failing because of losing structure on 4th/5th phase, or set moves not coming off, etc - but we're regularly dropping the ball dead on 2nd/3rd phase, seem...

As with all things ailing the code at the moment, I blame the Frogs - for clarity.

QC (Quade Cooper) was getting around fine in 2013, two years after his knee injury. He ran riot against the Force in 2015. Something that's happened since is the reason he's fucked.

    Reds 2017

Nah, if QC (Quade Cooper) still had a running game like Foley I don't think we'd be having this discussion. Depressing - you'd hope that a young guy like Ready would back himself to improve his set piece and rediscover the form that got him selected to begin with not all that long ago.

    Reds 2017

And I thought my post about QC (Quade Cooper) a few weeks ago was pretty rough  To be fair I can't say the Rebels game changed my opinion too much because, all due respect, it's the fucking Rebels. QC (Quade Cooper) exploited the space well but what's he going to do when those giant spaces aren't there because...

    Reds 2017

It's a bit dual-fold because of how much higher in quality their equivalent competitions are from the moment they step out of school and start playing/coaching Senior Rugby (can't speak to quality of schoolboy competitions and in a discussion about coaching it will never be relevant anyway...

One of the most baffling parts for me has always been that U-20's seem to be the last step before you get nominated for a Super Rugby gig in Australia. Uh, well, have any of them ever noticed our U-20's aren't exactly all that great most of the time?

It was so disappointing to wake up this morning to realize that I did not, in fact, dream that I read this. I am still clinging to hope that todd4 is embellishing or has suffered some sort of catastrophic memory failure. The level of retardation it takes to come up with such an inbred...

    Rebels v Reds, Sat 13 May @ 7:45pm

He's taken his chances well enough that I've wondered why he hasn't gotten more of the responsibility. Gets a good amount of distance on them while still putting it safely out or onto the grass, an increasingly rare quality in Aus rugby.

    Reds 2017

If this is the basis upon which Australia are trying to emulate the NZ coaching pathways system, we are well and truly fucked. What an absolutely perverted viewpoint - as if the nationality of the coaches has anything to do with it and as if the system itself doesn't have everything to do with it.

    The Wallabies Thread

Cips is still pretty erratic and not that great. Gopperth is the primary, steady playmaker that foils with Beale and Le Roux.

    Rebels v Reds, Sat 13 May @ 7:45pm

Stiles has always been pretty set-piece oriented so not surprised he's come down really hard on Ready after what's happened when he'd come on as a sub + the drinking incident. Mafi took his opportunities with two hands.

Not feeling good about this. Expecting Naivalu to run riot if he can get the ball and cut back to the inside channels off his wing.

Junior rugby based on weight classes

This is super hard to police, in my experience it's generally left up to the discretion of the club. It takes a special group of assholes to play a freak athlete in a truly "social" grade game. The problem I'm seeing with your posts so far is that you're talking about, presumably, Premier...

I believe that was one of the core narratives of RH's post.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Haven't most of the lawsuit rumors been swirling around Cox simply saying he's keeping his options open right now? Pretty sure I saw that quoted in an article with a title close to "Rebels Set to Sue ARU" earlier today.

    Reds 2017

You're saying that like the Reds currently have any other options..

Do we have a single reserve back that's actually up to Super standard?
