    Where to for Super Rugby?

It really does seem like NZRU have handled this poorly. Firstly deliering the death-knell of Super Rugby to their SAANZAR partners via a press release, then the unilateral delivery of the Aritipu review without consultation of potential partners prior to release seems very clumsy from a...

    2020 Super Rugby Round 3 - Waratahs v Brumbies @ ANZ Stadium - Saturday 18 July

I agree. It really looks like they have changed their defensive structure and it seems to be working. I would add that I have seen some nice variations in attack this year as well. Rather than the Foley-driven-behind-decoy-runner-cutting moves that were too easy for sliding defenses to...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The Australian article is definitely worth reading if you can get behind the paywall. McLennan was surprisingly undiplomatic based on the quotes in the article. When referring to the video hookup between Rob Clarke and Mark Robinson seeking Australia's "expression of interest", McLennan was...

I heard second hand that he had foot surgery recently.

GPS opens 100m record was set by Tolu Koula last year at 10.58 (he was u17 but ran opens). Hutchison held a younger age group record but never the opens. Tolu’s time would have won him the national u18’s 100m by some distance last year. Unlikely anyone will get close to that record this year.

Super Rugby AU R3 - Reds v Force

What a great game. Good quality all round. That game was an advertisement for why we should not cut a team. If we only had 2/3 teams in a TT comp, how would guys like Tevan Ferris, Ralston, Stander etc get a go. The #1 for the force was excellent as well.

    Shute Shield 2020

All the 7’s players have been released back to clubs and super rugby. Eg. Henry Hutchison running out for Wicks. Apparently Sam Wykes has turned up at Pirates as well. Might be a smoky this year.

    2020 Super Rugby Round 3 - Waratahs v Brumbies @ ANZ Stadium - Saturday 18 July

The Brumbies have Billy Pollard and Lachlan Albert tucked away somewhere who could both turn out to be real gems. I was really disappointed Waratahs didn't get Pollard. One of the best schoolboy forwards I've seen run out in Sydney in the last few years.

Anyone seen any announcement of the venue for Tahs vs Reds on Aug 8th?

    Reds 2020

I think you are pretty spot on except for James Ramm who made a lot of mistakes in the first half. Reds back rowers were better however Swinton did some good things apart for his penalty count which was excessive.

    NSW AAGPS 2020

There has been an interschool carnival scheduled for Saturday 25th of July followed by GPS championships Saturday 1 August. There have been some interschool carnivals proposed for late term 2 however they are still subject to the lifting of COVID related restrictions.

    NSW AAGPS 2020

A communication just came out at Shore: Athletics carnival at the start of term 3 to be followed by a modified rugby comp . The schools are working together to agree on the details however the language used was "possible" not "definite" with regards to third term rugby. There has been no...

    NSW AAGPS 2020

You would have to say that Kings are favourites after last week. Strong win over Shore at SIRC. Shore won Riverview Gold Cup but that isnt necessarily the best guide.

Neither did I until I found out last year that my Godson + a number of his cohort didn’t do the HSC at their GPS school, many of whom were coincidentally in the 1st or 2nd XV. I’ve subsequently found out that it goes on at a few of the GPS schools. It kind of goes against the “we develop well...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

There is currently a fairly obvious campaign at Newscorp to talk Rugby down during the bid process. One of the disappointing things for me is that Jamie Pandaram seems to be heavily involved as a Newscorp mouthpiece - I previously thought of him as a pretty good Rugby journo. Joe Aston at the...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Some years were good. Some were less so. What is not definable is what it would have been like without the workload management program. He didnt bat for the players or bowl for them and the period he was appointed for (2011 - 2018) was the "hangover" period post Waugh/McGrath/Warne/Hayden etc...
