Shore beat Waverley in trials last year but this years Waverley team was very different. They have had an influx of players, some from Trinity. There were 4 yellows and one red card in the game. The ref did a good job to control it but it was hard to judge either team.

The boys were largely happy to play Joeys (& View & Scots) but the school made the decision to withdraw from the entire comp on their behalf after a review of the situation. Safety was the issue with Kings and Newington with serious mismatches in player size between Shore & these 2 sides...

There is no edict at Shore not to do both. You can't start training for Rugby before HOTR is finished but that's it. Its true that last year there were no boys doing both however the members of the 1st VII weren't serious Rugby players in the first place and self-selected.

Stupid post. His kids don’t go to Shore. Kafer’s job is to work with clubs and schools, at all levels, to co-ordinate an uplift of coaching skills and sharing of knowledge. In this capacity has been asked to help develop a skills program by Rod MacQueen, who also does not have kids at the school.

Correct. Much needed changes happening as a result of feedback from parents last year. Not many details being communicated as yet however Rod has taken a consulting role to the program and Rod Kafer will have some involvement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes they had a good win against Cranbrook but Cranbrook lost interest after 20 minutes so it became lopsided. I wish the answer to the current situation was injuries. The only significant injuries they had were one centre for the season (rep basketball), the other centre to concussion for two...

Unfortunately that can't happen. The enrolment policy is pretty straight forward - there is a numbered queue which starts the second after the kids are born, no exceptions to jumping it, no sports scholarships. I wish it was different but it is what it is. Hopefully we can find a 16YO tight...
