    Blues @ Force, 30th April 2022

Re-reading my post, it seems like I am fairly calm. I’m not. I’m frustrated as hell, why the fuck did he do that.

    Blues @ Force, 30th April 2022

Prior lost that at the end by slowing the ball down as much as possible ten meters out. I don’t understand why any half back would ever do that. Genia was also occasionally guilty of doing the same thing. But then he would pull out some completely out-of-the-arse play to justify (be forgiven...

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Reds v Rebels

Campbell one of the few players putting a good hand up.

Super Rugby Rnd 1: Reds v Rebels

God, Tuttle is having a ‘mare. Has he been the last 5 errors (and he only just came on)

    Waratahs 2022

End of the day, the main thing the Tahs need is a proper defence coach. I think they were the the top scorer among the Aussie teams in the TT. They were scoring enough points that you would have expected them to, at least, have won a couple of games. But letting in 8 tries a game on average is...

Super Rugby T-T R4 Brumbies vs Hurricanes

I can understand and even agree with the logic behind it. The game should be played for 80+ minutes, and cynically trying to run down the last few minutes is a semi-penalisable offence, ie. the slightest indiscretion will be penalised.

Super Rugby T-T R4 Brumbies vs Hurricanes

i think it has been a refereeing directive for quite some years. As soon as a team tries run down the clock, they have to do it perfectly, as even the smallest infringement will pinged.

Chiefs v Brumbies, Rnd 4, FMG Stadium Feb 22 17:05

The first half was superb, and I had the same thought, kiwi-esque in the way they managed to play an off-loading game, while still maintaining possession, not losing the ball in contact. But I wouldn’t say they didn’t play for the full 80, quite the opposite. The Chiefs beat the Crusaders and...

    Reds v Sunwolves, Rnd 4 2020, Suncorp Stadium Feb 22 19:15

This weekend is showing there is a gulf between the Brumbies and Reds, and the Rebels and Waratahs.

Chiefs v Brumbies, Rnd 4, FMG Stadium Feb 22 17:05

That was a really impressive performance from Boys. I thought this would be a one sided competition after the Brumbies lost to NZ’s worst team at home, and playing NZ’s top team away. And the first 50 minutes was one sided, just not the way I’d expected. And they showed true guts to hold out...

    RD 14: Rebels v Bulls - Fri 17th @7:45 - AAMI Park

Rebels and Willy G are a bit like the Wallabies and Campese in the 80’s. The Rebels are as good as Genia is playing. He’s not having the best night tonight. On the other hand, Koroibete is showing that when he doesn’t do anything stupid, he’s actually quite good.

RC5: Springbokke vs Wallabies @ PE

Koroibete had a great game before injured. So far the Aussie POM. FF (Folau Fainga'a) had a bit of a shocker. Hopefully he does better in the second half.

French Barbarians v Australia, Thursday 24 November

I can't say I was glad the French scored at the end, I wasn't. But I couldn't help but think we deserved that. In a barbaa's game where you are suppose to err on the side of playing attacking rugby, with 5 minutes left and being 4 points behind, we decided to take the 3 point option, basically...

    Aussie Player Exodus

I’ll keep saying this on multiple forums, but we don’t have any choice, we have to select overseas players going forward. After the WC the majority of our first choice Wallabies will be playing overseas. It’s niave to believe that French clubs aren’t approaching every potential Wallaby and...

    Aussie Player Exodus

And my basic comment is that if we don't actually start selecting overseas players we drop to 6-8 or maybe lower in 2016-2017

    Aussie Player Exodus

Staying at 2-3 and being pissed off that we are not number 1 is acceptable for someone as unambitious as myself. I just don't want to hold my head up if we drop to number 8.

I live in France. I honestly don't know how this country continues to survive sometimes. It will be very badly hit if a global recession 2 hits. But rugby is based in the less economically affect farming heartlands.

    Aussie Player Exodus

If we don't start selecting overseas players we become a 6-8 ranked team in the world. Not a 2-3 ranked team who'se supporters (me) constantly get pissed off that we can't regain no 1.

Any financial advisor worth their weight in salt should probably advise them to open a free interactive brokers account and hedge their euro salary to US$. But I doubt there is any financial advisor worth that much salt.

    Aussie Player Exodus

I believe the best way forward is for the ARU to try and negotiate with the NZ counterparts to jointly announce that both countries will select overseas players. They will have the same issues as us, although they obviously enjoy much greater depth. This leaves our respective super teams on an...
