    Aussie Player Exodus

Has it been discussed on this thread how we transition to selecting overseas players in 2016? I'm not saying if, but how. It is quite likely that the majority, and maybe close to all, of The Wallabies first choices will be playing overseas after the world cup. There exists a head stuck in the...

    Reds 2015

This has probably already been discussed, I only read the last couple of pages, but Thomson is the surely most important signing, but it's questionable if he is enough. This years back line with JOC (James O'Connor) and KH outside of Quade and Genia looks really dangerous. But the problem in 2014 came down to...

    England v Australia

Whoever does the ratings, no one from 1-9 deserves more than 4 out of 10, apart from McMahon who maybe deserves a 5. No one who played at the position 9 deserves more than a 3. Thanks,

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

Moore was very close to being carded, and Walsh alluded to that with the TMO but decided against it, which was the right decision. Emotions aside, it was a bit of handbags, and not quite deserving of a card, although he was pretty close to the boundary of acceptable.

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

Umm yes, it would have been a penalty against Moore. But Walsh went back to the previous penalty that he was playing advantage on since it was in a better position, and a second penalisable offense (Quirk holding on) had occurred between the two.

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

I don't think Walsh said anything about impeding or affecting the try scored. His ruling was that an illegality/infraction had occurred prior to the try so he was obliged to pull it back. It was irrelevant whether it had an influence on the try being scored. It was a bit of a harsh ruling in...

    Super Rugby Tipping 2014

There's still 5 minutes to go. But I think the result is already determined by the Rebels. I'm 0 from 5 from the previous five games including this one. Anyone else in the same boat? And Brumbies were my joker also, in a really difficult week to pick the joker.

    Reds 2014

Re: Toua It's just to early to say. He's obviously talented. But is one obvious weak link in the Reds that will be exploited. Last year, or even a few months ago, I'd have said the same about CFS. But he has grown and matured, and seems to have more awareness. He's not near his potential...

    Reds 2014

Re: Harris. Harris looked like he was following the Tomane path of trying to have a hundred percent error rate. Briefly in the middle he managed a few plays without error, but then continued his 'mare for the rest of the game. That said, he still looked like the a Reds strongest mid-fielder...

    Reds 2014

I just edited my post :-) Loosies was Loonies originally because of autocorrect. But I agree I like that better. I might go back and re-edit it to the original.

    Reds 2014

First thought : Why isn't Beau starting at 6? Hopefully he will be after this weekend. Especially after the first half when the sharks just destroyed the Reds at the breakdown. The Reds/we have a very good line out, so do the Sharks, it was parity. The sharks have a better scrum but we held...

    Reds 2014

I just had the opportunity to watch the game. I am a subscriber to Kostatz and for some reason he didn't air the replays. The most frustrating thing was that I was that despite being fairly sure the game had already been played, but not being one hundred percent sure of the time of kickoff, I...

Super Rugby Round Three: Rebels v Cheetahs, Friday 28 Feb, AAMI Park

Well, I'm possibly being optimistic. But if we don't get four in the top nine I'll claim getting four in the top ten or eleven as close calls. And if that doesn't work out, at worst case, I'm sure we'll get at least four in the top fourteen.

Super Rugby Round Three: Rebels v Cheetahs, Friday 28 Feb, AAMI Park

That said, we really look like we have 4 competitive teams this year. No offense to Force supporters, but after the Lions start the Force don't really have any opposition in terms of who is expected to come last. And they probably will. But this is the first year that I can envisage 4...

Reds, Rebels & Waratahs consider merging operations

Carmichael said "it's not a takeover". I might not be alone in hoping that that's code for "it's really a takeover". The Queensland management has been a revelation over the past few years and shown what serious, professional management can achieve. Bringing the professional not parochial...

    Western Force 2014

I think it's going to be a great competition between To'omua and Godwin for the 12 Jersey. To'omua was fantastic in the EOYT's, but playing 10 for the Brumbies may hurt his chances a little come Wallaby time. Beale will also be in the mix if he manages to step up into the 12 jersey for the...

    Waratahs 2014

Assuming Beale plays 12, that leaves Horne benched and covering Inside and Outside Centers. Not a terrible option if AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) gets injured or moved further out to cover injuries. I don't see OC as being particular weakness in depth, but hooker... :-(

    Super Rugby Predictions 2014

Bairdy, I think I know what you've done there! After the past 7 days results I think I might have overrated the a blues and a Cheetahs. To make things simple, I'm just straight swapping Hurricanes and Blues and a cheetahs with the Bulls. That puts the Bulls a position higher than I think...
