    Force 2018

So lets say the hearing on the 23 Aug is successful and the challenge can be heard. It might then be months before we get a result. If it is a negative result for the Force they will then look to take it to the next level (High court?). I assume the same process would occur with an injunction...

Or a Genia and a Beale?

    Force 2018

Sure. But there is more than money at stake here. Many have families and lives outside rugby that mean leaving Australia and heading to Europe is not on the table.

    Force 2018

We have Stirzaker, Powell, Phipps, Gordon, Tuttle, Frisby, Louwrens, Ruru all running around at the moment who are decent scrum halves. Its not a position of weakness. So makes perfect sense why the Force are cut and the ARU spends $500k a year on bringing back Will Genia.

    Force 2018

I agree, bugger the ARU. But I dont want to see these players lose jobs. They are pro players, I hope they can move and stay in Australia if that is what they want. It isnt their fault management is incompetent.

    Force 2018

As an aside, lets assume the worst happens. Where do the players go? We have a strong squad and I would hate to lose these players, who have worked so hard, to Australian rugby: Props: Ben Daley Pek Cowen Jermaine Ainsley Shambeckler Vui Tetera Faulkner (Rebels) Francois Van Wyk (overseas)...

The benefit of it going to court is that a lot of information will be made public. Particularly I hope around the processes the ARU went down to assess which franchise to remove.

Enjoy super rugby guys. I doubt I will bother any more.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Personal attacks now. That is not nice.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

All of the posts above mine were on Brumby crowd sizes, QLD not being a rugby state anymore, etc. You haven't added anything constructive, rather just had a go at me, what exactly was the point of your post?

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Totally agree on the weighting. I selected equal weighting as I didnt know what the weighting would be. Silence from the ARU is deafening on this. State growth could be an option, so agree, Rebs ahead of Tahs there. Agree on the players coming through the pathways. If they came to the Rebels and...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Sure, and the Brumbies were the top team this year. Does past support matter? To an extent but when you are looking at a long term plan to cut a team, especially when the reason is cost, there are plenty of other reasons to consider. I listed the Brumbies as the top team in the success section...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

There are a whole bunch of metrics that the ARU could rank the teams on to decide who gets the cut. Has anyone tried that? Here is a real rough one that someone can take to pieces if they know better. Recent Success Ill take the 2017 standings: Brumbies Force Reds Tahs Rebels Financial...

    The Wallabies Thread

Personally, Id take Newsome over either, but I am probably biased. Id get Newsome and Banks into the squad ahead of Nabuli and Koribiete.

Newsome needs a shot too. He has been in fantastiv form and is willing to work.

    Force 2018

In that case RHP is just as vital. What are the thoughts on Cottrell? Was looking to be a Wallaby in waiting at one point but injury have killed him and now RHP has emerged. Will the Force keep him or is he to be cut?

    Force 2018

So who is key to retain now? Coleman, Prior, Faulkner, Newsome, Louwrens, RHP, Koteka, Taf and Philip. After that, lets rethink the players and look to get some more younger guys in the squad.

    The Wallabies Thread

Well, that exists in all sports. There is a line between professionalism and amateurism. We try and bridge that gap by things like the semi pro NRC and the top Sydney clubs are also semi pro in that they pay their top players.
