    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

Yeh in all honesty I don't have a problem with it. Clubs have done it in the past and more clubs will do it again. As long as the money is going towards keeping club rugby alive in brisbane then I'm all for it.

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

Paying to watch Premier grade was quite normal not too long ago. I recall paying at Yoku back in '06 I think?

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

TT I hate to use the word 'rebuilding' but it may very well be what GPS will need to do in 2015. A few questions may get answered in the trials v UQ this weekend but looking at the players currently down at Yoku and the unfortunate draw arrangement (not trying to use that as an excuse though) it...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

Nah not low blow - its a fair point MT. I'm sure if GPS were able to get all 13 of those blokes on the park for a season together then things might be different! I still reckon 2014 was GPS best chance to get the gold. Guys like Kerevi, Kuridrani and Kotze may not see much time down at Yoku...

    S15 Rd 1 - Brumbies v Reds, Friday 13th February

A bit of punting value in the Reds for those who like to throw money away. Reds - $3.15 Brumbies - $1.36 Reds were about $2.80 before the squad was announced. I'm guessing no JOC (James O'Connor) and Thomson has cause the difference.

    S15 Rd 1 - Brumbies v Reds, Friday 13th February

I think the Reds have the balance in the back 3 pretty spot on: - JJT is great at cutting broken defensive lines to shreds, especially on kick returns - Kuridrani is a big bopper with some pace, capable of barracking over for tries close to the line - Turner is the known factor, quick and...

Also have former Gallopers in the Smith twins on the bench for the Brumbies. Not a bad showing for the club.

    S15 Rd 1 - Brumbies v Reds, Friday 13th February

I'm surprised Korczyk is on the bench but it makes sense for the set piece. The Reds are probably hoping for lineout ascendancy and Korczyk provides a good target. I'm a bit surprised about the center pairing. I'm guessing its experimental and will change once JOC (James O'Connor) and Taps are both ready to...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

Interesting to hear Daymon Tuka is coaching Premier Reserve grade at Souths this year. He's come up the coaching ranks at a good pace. I remember when he was coaching 3rds (now Brisbane 2nd Grade) down at GPS about 5 years ago. Good on him.

    Reds 2015

I love all the positiveness here, really makes me feel good about what the Reds have to offer. I must say though, I hope none of you are teachers, some of the pass marks for this season seem rather high! I agree along with what Socey said in terms of what I believe would constitute a pass mark...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

Can anyone from Shaw Rd tell me if Norths have retained the nucleus of their Premiership winning 2nd grade side? I have heard a few of the guys might be staying at Norths but playing 'for real' this time.

    S15 Rd 1 - Brumbies v Reds, Friday 13th February

I hope Thomson puts his hand up this weekend for some good ball carries and that sets the tone for the season. My only real gripe with the Reds forward pack at the moment is that it may contain too many workhorses and not enough x-factor, guys who can change the game with ball in hand. Hopefully...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

Ryan Freney who played hooker for Qld Country NRC might get a look in. He's more of a utility front rower rather than a specialist tight head.

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

So whos got trials this weekend? Full club trials GPS v UQ are out at Albany Creek. From what I've heard the game times will be kicking off later than usual to account for the weather still being a little hot.

    Reds 2015

Im guessing Phil Kite will be on a flight up to Brissy sometime this week. I can't really think of another available tighthead prop who could seamlessly slot into the Reds squad and hold his own.

    Ideas for NRC 2015

Its seem to me like the ARU aren't going to stick with the NRC points system. If they were, I would think it would be getting used/trialed in national club competitions for 2015 and so far I haven't heard of that being the case - similar to the situation we had a few years ago when the short arm...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

TT is there a reason Easts have such a lopsided home then away draw? Or it just the (un)luck of the draw?

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

Thanks for detailing out those points for me Cat - pretty much exactly the issues that GPS is going to be faced with early in the season, I just couldn't be bothered typing it all! There are a whole bunch of new coaches at GPS this year who will be struggling to find some consistency in the...

Reds V Crusaders Friday 6th Feb - Ballymore

Yeh from all reports Kotze didn't get a look in with the Brumbies. He came to Brisbane with the intention to play club rugby and hopefully get a look in with the Reds, I guess it worked. I think I said this before in the Brisbane City thread a few months ago, Kotze will be a great older head...

    Ideas for NRC 2015

Good call . I think there needs to be more of a fuss made that getting picked for an NRC franchise is something important. There is still a bit of an aura that S15 teams are the be and end all when it comes to 'making it' in rugby and now there is an added step in the process.
