I understand what you're saying, but there are those boys that play in clubs that don't feed into rep teams, and don't go to fancy schools that can be overlooked. This gives them a chance to show their stuff!

Boys had to write their number on their arms and legs today at Granville , saw 282 on one boy for U17s! Would hate the job of the selectors to whittle it down from 282 to 48 (if you don't include the ones already in it from schools and Sydney Juniors)

New have scholarshipped Water polo players for years (know 2 who have graduated in the last 3 years), but don't think its whole teams of them. TSC also scholarship Water polo players, maybe theirs all come from the Shire (know of at least one from there)!

Unless the fracas with TSC is sorted, you would have to imagine that the powers that be are not doing to much forward planning.

Might be off the topic, but I wonder how many of these boys at the 'super power schools' go onto to play rugby once they finish Year 12, and indeed if they don't make a Super Franchise, if they EVER train anywhere near as hard again?

They play their rep basketball on Sundays, and given basketball is not the contact sport that rugby is, they can easily fit their rep commitments in! Therefore not lost to the North Shore!

Mind you, they are not averse to offering inducements to attract talented sports people either!

How sad is that! Many of them played all their junior rugby for Easts Wallaroos and you would have thought would follow that pathway!
